It all seems quiet on the Western Front today, but with Mondays poor showing for the racing im not surprised...

Anyway some racing is on and you have a choice from Wolvers, Pontefract and Windsor...

As usual any thoughts, selections or comments would be grateful just to get the thread going...<ok>

Good luck if you play today...<cheers>

Just had my first look at the Arc. The first two hope were wonderful. I read with great interest, yesterday's posts after the race had been run and won, and was a little surprised by some of the comments. Trying to run a line through a 10f event, against the 12fs of the Arc is a little silly for mine. Orfevre displayed a fantastic turn of foot down the straight, but those kind of efforts in 12f events, for mine, can't be compared to those of a Frankel over a mile or 10f. It's chalk and cheese. The winner's race was full of merit and courage. I don't know whether Orfevre could have won if ridden closer, but winner was clearly too strong in the run to the post. I think Offevre got a bad case of the staggers in the last 100m.

    Windsor 3.20

I put up Divine Angel on Friday and i'm going to follow this one until i get a big price win/place! Should come on for Fridays run and although off the bridle a long way from home she still kept on quite well. Odd that the trainer was quoted before the race saying she needed soft ground and 2 miles then goes and enters her into another race over a mile  Although as I am writing this up it has occurred to me they may be waiting for a handicap mark.

One of the best named 2yos of the year runs in the 3.20 at Windsor this afternoon - HELLO SAILOR - by Mount Nelson out of Fairy Queen <rofl>

The same race sees the debut of the full brother to G1 winner Gitano Hernando for the same stable - SIZZLER

Afternoon, all. The question that is foremost in my mind today, gee-gee wise, is what is Mr Henderson, the forum's favourite trainer, up to in the rich conditions heat up at old Ponty (3.40). He hands a flat bow to the dual hurdling winner Lieutenant Miller but in doing so asks the horse to campaign against a couple of beasts rated in the 100's! Quite, and I do mean quite, a task for a horse who's touching 7 and never raced on the flat before! Still as they say round my way, 'If anyone can, Mr Henderson can'.

Also, at the same track it will be Interesting with a capital ‘I’ to see how Rainbow View’s half sister (that’s Rainbow View the racehorse not Rainbow View the popular and knowledgeable forum member) Stunning View, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, fares on her handicap bow. Is she ridiculously well perched on just 69 or is she just a pale imitation of her more illustrious sibling???

Not backing either but both stand out to this correspondent. Good luck to those who do wager though.

One or to of us did point out that Orfevre would certainly have won had he kept a straight line. He hung badly to the right in the run to the line, and, apparently, actually bumped into the rail in the last 50m or so, which would not have helped his cause either. I would say he certainly stays 2400m the way he finished in the gluepot conditions. Very bad luck for all concerned with Orfevre, and the people who backed him too. The never-say-die attitude of Solemia and her jockey, Peslier, had to be admired too.

Got a £1 ew double on him and the other McEntee runner at 50/1 too :emoticon-0110-tongu

Anyone know if each way doubles are settled on a win-win place-place basis or half the returns from first each way on the 2nd? On at PaddyPower if it makes any difference
