He can't be a complete dud or he wouldn't bee in the starting first team squad, even with the ones missing yesterday. But I'd like to see him play, even if ont for half an hour so we can make an opinion.

Nothing wrong at all John, it seems Malky is slowly getting him used to British style football. The same could be said of Kimbo, but isnt it great that we can take our time with these signings and introduce them when they are ready.
We now have a Quality squad (Conway and Gestede yesterday) that we can bring on to change things, not to mention the others sitting on the bench Turner and Kiss who would get into most Championship teams <ok>

agree that malky is waiting for him to acclimatise to the completely different style of football over here but surely like JH said when we're 3-0 up he should get 15 mins to see what he can do?

i dont see the point of leaving him on the bench every week when theres been 11 games so far in the season.....

With you on that CVD. A season or two back and they'd have been in at the deep end. MM saw the threat yesterday was with the high cross so sent on Rudy. If it needed the channels run he could have left MAson on and added Eti.

What was good to see yesterday was the enthusiasm and commitment from Conway. He's not had many chances and knew he needed to take the opportunity yesterday. We do have a squad with options this season.

Come December and January when there are a few injuries and a different game plan is requred these guys will prove their worth.

I understand what JH was saying and would also like to see Eti given some game time but so far this season when subs have been made we have been bringing on Mason / Cowie or even Bellamy.
Would you at this moment in time bring him on instead of any of those ?? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

And to be fair, Conway and Rudy had an impact yesterday. You can't say it was the wrong decision. Whitts was back in his centre half role at times yesterday though.

We paid very good money for him, yet we wait two months for Gestede to be fit and use him instead. Different British game or not, if he was any good surely he would have had a game by now? I don't think that the different British game is the problem, I think it's just a diffferent league from the pub league he played in before. Hope I'm wrong and that we have bought a great (or at least good) player in the making. Until we see him, I have my doubts. To be fair, he looked OK in a 'friendly' against Newcastle.

I said this the other week when Playing Blackpool! 3-0 15 mins left and we bring on Cowie for an attacking player...fair enough if there was only one goal in it but at 3-0 we need to be positive! MM should of brought on Vel or Kimbo yes give them time to learn the "English" game but end of the day he's going to learn F*** ALL sat on the bench all the time!!!

I agree with the above, the both of them need more game time, as for Gestede, then i wonder if he got himself injured again !!
