I don't think Alonso was ever afraid of Perez as a teammate, but I'm starting to think Ferrari wanted Perez but knew they couldn't have him because Vettel is coming a year later - so, aware of his talent, they said he was too inexperienced in the hope that interest from other top teams would be diminished. Perez is now a serious threat, and Alonso isn't wasting any time playing mind games with his newest rival.

It really does make me wonder about the wisdom of pairing Alonso with Vettel, as fascinating as that would/will be from a fan's point of view.

Seb is kind of a German carbon copy of Alonso. Ferrari are after particular drivers that are fast and born leaders with the mind to match.

Even Lewis going to Mercedes and Perez to McLaren is weird enough for me, but when the time comes that Seb will join with Ferrari will send me to the loony house, wondering what the hell is going on.

My money is on Hulkenberg. If not, Michael. Because nothing from his side has been confirmed yet.

My money is on Massa. He's upped his game now, and they only need a guy for 1 year, signing Hulkenberg for 1 season would be a waste.

Needing somebody for one year would be about the only reason to keep Massa. He hasn't really raised his game that much and it seems too little too late to really keep his seat on merit unfortunately.

Looks like Jaime was talking **** about being 100% coming back to F1: http://www.caranddriverthef1.com/fo...i-digo-hasta-nunca-f1-no-gusta-parado-22-anos

He has no contract, nothing! zilch!

Though he believed it was Sauber that would pick him... He even (in way) blames Seb for his exit since he had to match what Seb did in 2008.

Hopefully that means Kamui will be safe then!

Thats pretty awesome if it turns out to be true. I'd love for Kamui to keep his race seat!

This is all assuming that the prediction to bring Vettel in from 2014 on is true. Massa has been doing decent as of late, but I do get the feeling it might be a little to late. Still, I don't really rate Hulk as highly as some of you guys. He's had moments where he has looked decent, but I still rate Kobayashi or Di Resta over him if Ferrari aren't planning on going down the Vettel route. Still, I think Hulk would do a better than Massa.

This is quite interesting, Maldonado has said that he is not guaranteed to stay at Williams next year, with the market moving he wants to be in the best place he can. Under the rules, PDVSA must pay their sponsorship dues by October 31.

The only team with a competitive drive still available? Sauber, who coincidentally enough need sponsorship with Perez leaving.

Yup an option, something on the lines of like: If I don't win one race in my first season I can leave.

Kimi and Lotus would be fools to part. The relationship, challenge and enviroment is perfect for both sides

Kovalainen is aparently now staying with Caterham. Maybe this means he couldnt strike a deal at Ferrari, Sauber or Force India

Give it a couple of years, then he will go to Ferrari when Vettel has been bullied out.
