He's 2 goals in 2 games from LB isn't he? Maybe he'll love it there?
 
JV plays at LB for his country, Vermaelen and Kompany are their main CB's, as already said, it depends how happy he is about it. I'm much happier seeing a FB break forward than I am a CB, and he has shown already to be very useful at that.
 
oh, i dunno. The CB must be covered but seeing one on a marauding run can be kinda majestic. Full backs getting forwards is pretty much expected now
 
Vertonghen is better going forward from left back than Benny but there is no doubt defensively Benny is the better defender as a left back. I suppose it depends who we are playing. Either way it will be a nice problem for us to have if everyone finally gets fit.

I think there are massive doubts as to who is the best defender, overall I'd say JV is the best defender, but it's close.
 
i think JV is the best defender fullstop. Whether its at CB or LB.
For solidity i would go:
Walker (eek, atm) Kaboul Caulker JV

But if JV is not happy at LB then he needs to be accomodated at CB to keep him happy.
