    It seems he's had a set-back and now needs an operation.

    We're not having a lot of luck with injuries at the moment.

    Well that's promotion down the pan. Any idea how long he could be out for?

    Not looking good...

    Big blow for Matty Fryatt. He broke down in training this morning. Could be looking at a serious long term absence now

    A few questions;

    What is the injury? We knew he was ****ed in some way, but nobody at the club or any specialist could pinpoint what it was.

    So now he trains, irritates it and ****s it right up good 'n' proper.

    Well that's just great.

    So, next question;

    What is the operation? The injury is still not pinpointed. We just know it's worse and that it really hurts.

    How can you operate on something you can't see? Are they just going to stick medical instruments in and hope for the best?

    This all seems too vague to me. I don't know how it hasn't been sussed out by now by the professionals. It is, after all, their job.

    If I was Matty (I'm not), I'd be ****ing fuming that it's come to this.

    We should make Rotherham give us that volley scoring kid in return for depriving us of our best player.

    Very disapointed, MF was our key to promotion, we certainly need to be looking for a replacement now.
    IMO Simpson isn't good enough, neither is McLean. Yet to have an opinion on the Proschwitz!

    Without scrolling down to see if anyone else has answered your question - his injury, providing it hasn't changed! Is a ruptured Achilles tendon.

    Many thanks.

    Did they include him in full training with that? Or was it just light stuff?

    I'm gutted about this news, btw.

    Feared for Fryatt when he started having multiple injections, now he's likely out for the season time for Proschwitz to step up.

    They tried treating it the same way as Roseniors over the summer (by injecting) although how the **** an injection helps a ruptured tendon is anyone's guess. I suspect an injection woud have at best been a temporary solution. If they'd have diagnosed it quicker, and done a proper job, he could be on the path to recovery as we speak. Instead he'll probably not figure this season. That is really bad news, I can't believe how badly we are doing for injuries. I suspect we might see another striker come in on loan now too.

    and with Bruce out he must go back to 4-4-2 Rosenior - McShane - Faye - Dudgeon/Dawson as Cooper probably will be given the cold shoulder for not going to Pompey.. not what we need with all these injuries..

    I would guess that he has a build up of calcium on the tendon. I had it on both and had to have them both opened up and scraped. They cut away the sheath that the tendon is in, scrape off the calcium and you have your bottom half of your leg and ankle in a pot for about 10 days. You then come out of the pot and have some serious physio for a good number of weeks in order that you can start to move the foot up and down and exercise the tendon, very slowly. Its a shyte operation but usually very successful. If you dont have it done and carry on running on it the calification can get so bad that the tendon will snap and then you really are in trouble.

    IF the Prozzy can step it up and start playing, PLUS with Simmo starting to score, we might not notice.

    With the form Simmo is showing we are hardly missing Fryatt at the minute. He would be a better option to have on the bench tho instead of others.
