He was born to Indian parents with Italian ancestry, quite a mix there and he looks like a decent prospect

Hey, at least you guys have some drivers coming up through the ranks. There really isn't anyone here in the US  still waiting for a really talented American driver to make it to F1, its been a while since we had anyone

I think the failure of Micheal Andretti has put off any talent from over the pond joining F1.

    Alexander Rossi?

21 years old and did pretty well in Formula Renault 3.5 (3rd) against the likes of Vergne, Ricciardo (Only did 12/16 events) and Wickens which is a respectable series. This year not so much but I guess he is being groomed in Caterham and don't be surprised to see him in 2013.

The kid also holds a Super license.

I actually completely forgot about Rossi. He could turn out to be pretty decent but thats a long way off I feel. Just getting an American a seat back in F1 would be great to see, and Caterham is a good team so I think that'd be a good move if it materializes.

I haven't posted on this thread so far because I don't care much if F1's next star is British. To be honest, the only one I've ever really been a fan of is Lewis. All my other favourites have been from elsewhere (Montoya, Senna, Andretti Snr., Peterson). I'm not a betting man but if I had to put money on the next star I'd go for Jules Bianchi but he's French. I'd like to see Pic come good too and he's also French; it's overdue, I think, for the French to have a renaissance in F1.

;) Yes, of course but he's kind of already here rather than next big thing. And then there's Vergne...
