New series (6 part) starting this Thursday. http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/22058/8130461/Starting-this-week-Britain-s-next-F1-star-
Chirst! What a load of ****... For fun *I think*, from most likely to least likely to get into F1 in my opinion: 1st:Alice Powell 2nd:Seb Morris 3rd:Jordan King 4th:Josh Hill 5th:Alex Brundle 6th: Dean Smith
Britains next F1 star will be rich with a parent with good Motorsport connections, just like the current crop.
Hamilton and Button's families are hardly what you would call rich, Hamilton grew up on an estate in Stevange with his dad holding down several jobs just to pay for his costs while I believe Button's dad remortgaged their house to get funds
Yeah, if her and Alex Brundle are the supposed future of British representation in formula 1 then the UK could be in for a long drought in terms of success in F1 in the future
I think after Calado and Chilton* (Scraping the barrel with this kid) the well would of dried up for a few years until the generation that will watch Lewis and Jenson etc... on TV come in force.
No ones standing out for me at the moment. Theres a few lads in the very low formulae but their still about 4 years off GP2 even.
Anthony Hamiltons had 3 IT consulting jobs in the 90's, a very good time to be a freelance IT consultant, it's not like he was a cleaner, truck driver and postman, and as for Button, if you had a kid that wanted to get into karting you had to go through Buttons dad as he had the contract for supplying the Rocket cadet engines. Don't believe the 'we were poor' bollocks, it's pure PR.
True but its not like they were Roman Abramovich jr either. There is a lower standard sadly of course that excludes the postmans son, but to say they're all rich daddies boys is an exaggeration.
Sebs dad was a carpenter but had a hobby in hill climbs or something. Depends how much carpenters get in Germany I guess?
Calado looks decent, but Chilton is the most likely to enter F1, considering he's marussia's reserve driver now.
