Glad too see you rate him as he clearly oozes talent and im glad I got to see him play, and yes you're right he did play with James, so glad we got rid of that OAP. Would love to have another caulker at the moment, as currently our squad is scoring for fun but sadly the defense isn't up to scratch, we are in dire need of that tall commanding centre half but they are hard to find, anyway thanks for the feedback and over the moon too see him play for you guys. Again good luck and hopefully we will meet in the not to distant future <ok>

He wrote an article in the Guardian about the syndrome that I hinted at, where loanees fail to appreciate why they're there, and singled out Caulker as an exception, praising him relentlessly.

Caulker may be too good to leave out of the team already, as far as I'm concerned. He still has things to learn, but next to Gallas is a great place to learn them, and he's fantastic on headers, defensively and offensively. Though neither one counted, he more or less scored two headers in his first two games for us; the first was unfairly ruled out, and the second turned into an own goal. I could see him playing a long time for us.
 
I would love Kaboul Caulker Verts all playing as long as JV doesn't mind playing LB.

I rate 'Superman' so highly I bet he could play RB too, (maybe both at once :azn:

I think we may have a Mabbutt+ on our hands.

that would be ideal,keep the weak link Benny on the bench
 
regardless of the pairing that is chosen, it's a nice for us to know that we've got Kabs, Verts, Gallas and Caulker who could all play at the same time if necessary!! I can't remember the last time our central defence was so strong and yet so versatile.(not even included Daws here :S )

I heavily doubt this, because if this was the case, then AVB would have played a proven defender in Dawson, over an unproven, raw talent such as Caulker; especially in a game against Man Utd away and even more especially when AVB is under such scrutiny. Playing Caulker for the first time in such a high profile game where Spurs always seem to lose was a massive risk for AVB and had Caulker been at fault for causing Spurs to concede a 3rd or 4th goal, AVB would have been heavily criticised for "playing a promising, but inexperienced Caulker over the solid, proven and experienced Dawson. He got his decision making wrong"

Well done to Caluker, well done to AVB and I truly hope that Caulker can (steadily) fill the void left behind by Ledley and his dodgy knee, and AVB can be a successful manager for us.
 
Thanks for the different perspective Lotak,I didn't think of that.

I always maintained that Spurs need a big name to take us up,a famous successful name to match the history of the club. When George Graham came he won us a trophy in his first season and would have continued winning for us. He was the biggest most successful name after Ferguson and bingo we won a trophy as we did when Bill Nicholson was coach,top name=top performance.

Harry came along who I suppose is the top English name of the day and look how we improved. Now I wanted names like Blanc and Loewe who are successful coaches and who are big known names in the world of football. We have Andreas Villas Boas. A big name in Portugal and successful there and I'm hoping will prove a big name for us.
 
I don't think Caulker and Verts will be our number 1 pairing in the near future like some have suggested. Kaboul is still our number 1 centre back in my opinion and when he's back it will be a case of who partners him. If Caulks partners him then I think Benny's days (as much as I rate/ like him) are numbered at LB as Verts has been mega impressive there as well as CB. If Verts partners Younes then Caulker will probably need to bide his time a bit more. There's no doubting though that Caulker will become a massive player for us within a couple years, if that.

We could certainly play a back three of them - which also has the advantage of putting Walker further up the pitch, so we'd have time to recover from his next blunder...
