Hi guys. Thought you might enjoy this video from Youtube. It contains lots of clips of Arkle (many of which I've never seen before) set to some quite haunting music.

No reason it should Cyc - a nice video memory of the greatest chaser ever ;) No sound when I watched, but if it's just music then no real loss I guess.

Random: Beautiful clip, accompanying music spellbinding too. He was the greatest, no doubt. The only thing I disputed in those days gone by in the original BBC 606 was 'some guy' telling me that he would have given Best Mate (3-times a Gold Cup winner; surely all three were not 'poor renewals'?) 28 lbs. and a beating. Could never quite accept that. Thank you for posting this clip.
 
Ha, I remember those wars fondly.

I love coming across old footage like this. It's just a shame that so many historical races and great horses were before it was really filmed, so we don't have records for younger people like myself to watch.
