Possession: 50 : 50 Shots: 10 : 10 On Target: 7 : 6 Corners: 5 : 5 Fouls: 5 : 2 Looks to have been a very even game! Score: 2 : 5
To be honest, I thought our shots would have been higher! Jackson had two decent chances before they scored their second. Clinical finishing was the difference - sorry, Suarez was the difference!
Yes, not 100% accurate, but even allowing for that they tell a story. If it's any consolation, Arsenal came unstuck in much the same way, though less dramatically: two poor bits of defending (by a team that is also acknowledged to have tightened up considerably in that respect) plus several missed chances.
And most of our possession was in front of them doing no damage whatsoever. One sortie up the byline by Morison and that was it for opening them up.Its what you do with that possession that makes the difference.
Exactly. Another example: Barcelona v Chelsea in the EC: Chelsea had minimal possession but won the game.
. Not according to BBC, says 50/50 as, I believe, did MOTD. Where'd you get your stats from? I know there were problems with results updates etc. genuinely have no idea what the true stats are!?
We had no sustained period of possession during the whole game, just rushed it and gave it away. Where was the intelligence to just try and keep it and take some pace out of the game when needed to. I don't recall us passing it across the back, or a midfielder coming back and making themselves available to pass to. The chemistry just isn't there at the moment.
We did pass it across the back on at least one occasion, Ruddy to Garrido, Garrido to Turner, Turner to Suarez...goal
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/match/2012/sep/29/norwichcity-v-liverpool Click on match facts http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/norwich-city-2-5-liverpool-luis-1285848 And on here its 67.1% I do not think the stats the bbc use are very good or reliable, for whatever reason.
I think the BBC's feed cocked up completely yesterday, if you scroll down the link to the match text, you can see the ref blew the final whistle on about 77 minutes, before Holty scored our second goal, so it's highly likely the rest of the stats are wrong also! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19684133
It did cock up Dave. I think it went down at half time as it had the full time score as 2-0 to Liverpool.
it was the feed that was down, on sky as well as the beeb, so there were no updates in the second half. the beebs stats are provided by OPTA and are not their own.
i must admit to laughing when i saw the possession stats on match of the day! 50/50???? any fool could see liverpool had two thirds of the possession, though much of it was in the final half an hour - was pretty even before that.
