the referee is mike jones. i was shocked beacuse he only lives 20 miles away from liverpool. he lives in chester. will this be a factor in the game he lives so close he could be giving liverpool everything. i thought there should be a rule that a referee should not live with in a certain miles of the teams. 20 miles away is not good get ready for liverpool to get everything and us nothing.
I live 5 miles from Reading, does'nt make me a royals fan can't see how this is a factor really, more concerned about rodgers comments (see other thread)
I want a clean match, but I'd put a ****-ton on a Suarez penalty. Our bad luck with Penalties is ridiculous.
Tbf I doubt the proximity he lives to Liverpool would be a factor. Maybe he's an Everton fan? People move to different places for any number of reasons
I have to say your pre occupation with officiating at Tomorrow's match on this board is slightly worrying.. It's being built up in the same way the BBC are building up strictly!.. I'd wait until after the game to start worrying about the officials, whether good bad or indifferent. Good luck tomorrow by the way. I'm one of the few Town fans that would like to see Norwich do well (within reason obviously )
I really hope that if he has a good game, you Norwich fans will come on here and say that instead of accusing him before he has done anything wrong. I would hate to see any of you on jury service, we would have people sent down for life before the evidence was given because their eyes were too close together!
Shouldn't be a factor - I live in Peterborough but don't support the Posh (although I'll politely applaud them if I go and see them). As said elsewhere, the guy could support Everton, Tranmere or nobody in particular....
yawn. if you read the comments guru, the majority don't agree with the OP sentiment. all we want (which we all do surely) is consistent refereeing and managers / owners from big clubs not putting pressure on the refs.
Yeah agree, just thought it was worth a mention as it's only big call I can think of which he has made in one of our games.
fair call Canary max, its just grinds me that some supporters are clinging to excuses before the game!
I accept all refs and linos are impartial, they all make mistakes and they all miss the obvious thats why I like football god it would be boring if it was sanitised by tv referalls and all that, Rodgers is only trying to be Mr Big now he has a "big" team , he is no Ferguson and hopefull it will all backfire on him hopefully suarez the cheat will get two yellows for diving that will make my day
referees are NOT biased. none of them are. its just that some aren't as good as others. totally irrelevant where he comes from. we had darren cann run the line a couple of times last season - he's from norwich. makes no difference.
At the end of the day, he is a professional referee and won't let Rogers's comments affect him - that isn't to say that Rogers comments were right of course though.
Dead right Supers. A few years ago there was a documentary where refs were miked up. Tony Adams went up to the ref, after what he thought was a dodgy call, and called him a ****ing useless cheat. The ref, (Possibly david ellory) very calmly replied, "I might well be guilty on the first two charges, but I am not a cheat!". Adams just looked stunned and walked off.
