Well, thank god that’s over, bank holiday that is, and we can start and look forward to the weekends game.

I know the experts and pundits say its a meaningless game, nothing to play for, mid table game, well I for one will be well pissed off if our team show that attitude. A standard of desire, hunger, commitment and work rate was set last Saturday and I am looking for more of the same.

We have two home games left, two chances for those players who have let me down so much this season to make sure I go into the summer break happy and excited about next season.

Two games for Brucie to show me why I should continue backing him, to prove to me he can motivate the players and push on.

We are weeks away from the annual list of players who a source says we are signing, a list that will run into 30 or 40 names. Weeks away from the daily scan of the gossip pages, sky and David Craig standing outside the AoL looking for that elusive sighting. Weeks away from reports of a man who looks like ???? was seen in an hotel at ???? or arriving at ???? airport.

Weeks away from the shock story of who is leaving, will we have one this summer and if yes who will it be?

Weeks away from planning the friendly we will be going to, best way there, looking forward to seeing ??? playing for us.

Then holidays behind us, excitement growing, expectations high, this time it will be our time, this time we will do it, this time is the real thing, and we do it all over again.

    Looking forward to Saturday.

I don't think for one minute that Brucey will let the standards slip mate, it's not as the pundits say a'no contest mid table game' there's valuable money at stake and pride, plus the higher we finish the easier it is to attract players in.

Not sure what it is this season but a few seasons ago each team got something like £35m then a further £750k for each position they finished above bottom, pretty sure it's more now but for finishing 10th would get you an additional £7.5m so there's plenty to play for.

I stand corrected just did a bit of research and here is the money table for 2009/2010 season.

Prize Money for the 2009/2010 Premier League Season.
    Chelsea - £16,000,000
    Manchester United - £15,200,000
    Arsenal - £14,400,000
    Totenham Hotspur - £13,600,000
    Manchester City - £12,800,000
    Aston Villa - £12,000,000
    Liverpool - £11,200,000
    Everton - £10,400,000
    Birmingham - £9,600,000
    Blackburn - £8,800,000
    Stoke - £8,000,000
    Fulham - £7,200,000
    Sunderland - £6,400,000
    Bolton - £5,600,000
    Wolves - £4,800,000
    Wigan - £4,000,000
    West Ham - £3,200,000
    Burnley - £2,400,000
    Hull - £1,600,000
    Portsmouth - £800,000

syd you asked "shock story, who is leaving"

not sure who, but pretty much reckon we will have one big departure, either gyan, henderson or gordon.

either in a sale or swap deal, bruce best make sure safc get the better deal.

I doubt if it will be Gordon. I can't see him being fit before the close of the transfer window. No one would want to buy an injured player would they. Well, no one that is, unless they play in black and white stripes.

All the usual suspects then, lets take a look.

    Gyan
Could go but it would mean a complete rebuild of our forward line with Welbeck back at Man U, assumption I know and Campbell out for season. I like Gyan and may well be shouted down here but, TBH, it would not upset me.

    Gordon
His injury could be why he goes, sounds strange, let me explain. Bruce must decide, stick with Mig and Carson or bring in keeper. If he brings keeper it would need to be a good one, just for argument he goes for Kirkland. Gordon then recovers, who is number 1, more importantly who is number 2, would Mig or Kirkland be happy at number 3. We would have one good keeper to many.

    Hendo.
I can only see him going if he was part of swap deal, Welbeck, Johnson or the like.

glad you see you are not dismissing the idea of one of our bigger names going,

it's gonna be a big merry go round in the summer.

also if mr. bruce gets the boot, a new manager with his own ideas.

and if bruce stays, he knows he needs a re-build

I LOve that table it has not got the barcodes in it.
I wish it could be like that every year lol.
Also a selfish quote from Cypruss just because he is retired he neglects us workers having time off.

I don't think we will be selling Gordon in the summer. The fact is that he is coming into the last year of his contract.
I just can't see him signing another one, with him not guarenteed to be number 1. I think we will lose him for buttons in January, or for nothing next summer.

That's a worrying thought after we spent £9m to sign him. I do believe that SB considers him to be our first choice keeper, so I'm not concerned in that respect. I hope to God that I'm going to be reading that he has signed a new contract in the summer.....or I may actually <wah>

Yeh, with you on this. I really hope that he gets over this latest injury and re-signs. When on song he is one of the best in the country.

I certainly don't want him to leave. I don't like the way Bruce singled him out for criticism after the Stoke game. Just hope he hasn't had his nose put out.

I've got to be honest mate, I slated Gordon after that match. That was the worst performance I have seen from him since he joined our club, but as Wherewereyou said, on his day, he is one of the best in the country.

Don't get me wrong. Bruce had every rite to tear him a new one, just don't think it should have been done for the MOTD camera's. Poor man management.

Spot on mate, I forgot about that interview. You never see the top managers do that,

particularly Arsene "I didn't see it" Wenger!
