Has to be Dale 'Flash' Gordon.....was my first ever footballing hero and got to present the sponsors MOM award to him as a kid after my old man had managed to bag a pair of sponsors box tickets. Think from memory it was a 1-0 win against QPR. Have him out wide giving Holt all the service he would ever need, the bloke would be worth 20mil easy in todays footballing climate.

Just a shame he never got in the full England set up....better than Barnes in my opinion......time to dig out the old 88/89 season video!!!

Robert Fleck ... or Ted MacDougall. Natural goalscorers in the more "poacher" style.

Too difficult to answer this IMHO I'll throw one out there though, Mike Channon. He was in his twilight years when he played for us but in his prime he was a terrific talent. Other than that I would have to go for Darren Huckerby <ok>

Hi bors, back in Blighty. Such a wealth of talent to choose from. Me, I'd select Chris Sutton, just for the tenacity he put into his game. To me the pefect professional, always prepared to give of his best.

Fleck, no way, remember his attitude when Chelsea sought his services. Have distinct remembrance of his lack of effort during that period just before being transferred to Chelsea.

Trouble is, in today's game big Dunc would play one, be suspended for three, play one, be suspended for three, play one, be suspended for three, etc, etc....

I agree that there is no place for Big Dunc in today's game - would just love to see him against some of todays wallflowers.

For a more serious answer I would go for Kevin Reeves - he always had an eye for goal. Our first £1 million plkayer when he followed Bondy to Man City. Probably thinking of JB that brought him to mind.

TBH these days I doubt Big Dunc would even make it to half-time before getting sent off <laugh>

    Remember the chant ?
"Six foot two, eyes of blue, Duncan Forbes is after you, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah"

If Dunc was playing today it would be like Forrest Gump. "Run Dunc" "Kick Dunc" "Stop Dunc"

Sadly I think that Duncan Forbes is now suffering from Dementia, I don't know whether anyone on here can confirm that ?

I had not heard that. Tragedy if it is true. He was once quoted as saying "I was only carried off once and that was shoulder high"
