I just wanted to start the thread early to put up a horse i think will shorten to single figure odds by midday, this horse has been dropped to a mark of 82 which i believe is more than kind, he will go on the soft and definitely get home over 5f no matter how soft. I am ot sure how the midlands is fairing but at Ascot it has not stopped raining all day. Leicester 4.00 R Woody 12-1 good luck all
Hamilton passed its early inspection, but as the ground is heavy and more rain due to fall this morning they will take another look at 11.45.
Leicester 4:00 I put up LEXI'S HERO in yesterdays thread. A horse I have been following for some time. Dropped in class, Jamie Spencer booked (He has a tremendous record under Jamie), plum rail draw, down to a very low mark in the weights. The ground though the only issue, assuming that Leicester has had anywhere the amount of rain we've here it will be soft at best! Might be a blessing in disguise as everything apart from the ground looks spot on, I'd probably have lumped on in a big way if it was on good or better but if Leicester goes ahead and indeed the horse is run I will have a small ew bet.
Morning all Only horse that interests me today is FLOWER BOUQUET (6.05 Fairyhouse) 9/1 she ran just yesterday over 7f and looked ready for a step back up in distance (1m2f today). She runs off 58 today (first start in a handicap) and probably ran to a higher level than that yesterday. Worried about betting in these apprentice handicaps though so I am giving it a miss today. Still interested in how she gets on though.
I've just come in from outside, having been released from my outside duties today. Nipped up the ladder to the hayloft and just as I was stepping off the ladder it disappeared and I went crashing down on to the concrete. Pretty badly bruised but otherwise I think I'm OK. The leg I broke recently is getting number by the minute; surprised (and very glad) I haven't broken it again though. It's one way of getting out of jobs. Been looking for a horse in case it was an omen but can't find one so I'll go for Intransigent 16.20 Kempton and Tiger Cliff in the 16.50. At Hamilton I quite like Haajes in the 14.10 and Sparking in the 16.10. Good luck all.
Afternoon all - looks like there's a forum competiton going on with the 4PM at leicester. I've backed Le torreador! Take care Ron
Even a sniff of the word competition gets me involved It's always boring tipping up a jf but in this case I think it'll be warranted because I cannot see past Ajjaadd in the 4.00 at Leics after he massively outran his draw LTO at Sandown in a race where the form has been boosted significantly with the 3rd that day winning and second that day, Face The Problem, running 2nd in the Portland. Ajjaadd 9/2
Adam Kirby just lost the first at Leicester by getting boxed in in a four runner race, i ask you. Leicester is hardly a tight all weather track or Chester. Leicester looks like getting quite cut up but i think it will suit my bet on R Woody as he stays 6f well.
For goodness sake be more careful Ron! For those of you that may not have noticed, the filly that Racing Post have been following since her birth over 2 years ago, BORN TO RUN, makes her racecourse debut in the 2.50 at Kempton. The trainer has said that a fifth place finish would be his idea of a good first run, but expect a two-page spread in tomorrow's paper if she wins!
Small bet for interest that Cross Pattee will have the stamina to last home best in bottomless ground
Well we had the first 3 home between us, lot of money for Lexi's Hero, not sure why. Well done GGW and Woolcombe
