It's a tough life as a Town fan at the moment.

Then again, it's not exactly a bed of roses for you guys either.

At least my first team got a good result today. Howay the Lads!

Not for the want of trying guys. It is bloody frustrating watching our side compete with the best sides in the country only to miss out by a single goal, away from home. Not like the good old days in the Championship when we would muller just about every other side in the league week in and week out <ok>

The truth is our strikers are not what they were last season but it's still early days and they could come good :emoticon-0107-sweat

You lot couldn't score in a brothel.

To pinch a quote from Lawro as I know how much you all like him! "It will be a loaves and fishes job" if Whoton keeps you up this season.

Paul Jewell collapsed at the weekend in Brighton and was carried to the nearby Lib Dem gathering.
When he came to he asked "where am I?" and was told you are in the conference.
Bloody hell he said, "what happened to leagues 1 and 2?"

Who will be next at the Comedy Store (aka Portaloo Road)

    lets look at facts,

We are in apparently deep **** but are getting 0.71 points per game.

yet, you apparently are doing ok and are unlucky, but are only scoring at 0.6 points per game

    discuss!

thai, i went to the portaloo on saturday (i've since been disinfected) and my god are they in trouble this year! in comparison to us right now, the contrast is truly garganchuan. they have absolutely nothing to be excited about - not even us struggling to score goals should be of any comfort to them. we've got a chance - we're doing most things right at the moment but we just need a couple of breaks to go our way. they however, well... lets just say that i'd be surprised if they aren't in the bottom three at christmas, with or without a new manager - that's how weak they look

Thanks for the report Supers (hope you enjoyed the shower of disinfectant <ok>), sadly I only see what I get to see from the highlights on BBC'c FL show and what little is written on the BBC sports website. Now while those two alone make for pretty bad (is that the right word? ) viewing, it is still hard to get a proper appraisal of just how bad things are down south. Certainly I see a lot of similarities between 4 years ago and now and while it is no nailed on thing that the exact same thing will happen, the odds are looking increasingly favourable.

As for us it does appear that we just need a break to go our way, a lucky deflected goal could the spark the season needs for us, but as with a good few others one here, my feeling is we have lost our way in the final third of the pitch as a result of tightening up at the back. It is something that can be worked on and hopefully resolved but if we cannot do it with the current forwards (and I am beginning to wonder if we actually can) then we have to wait until January to get a striker (or two) in that will hopefully be able to convert the chances our build up play currently deserves.

Like i say, one man's unlucky is another man's relegation form.

0.71 points per game = Relegation
0.60 points per game = Unlucky

it was a weird game at the portaloo. i got the feeling quite early on that whoever scored the first goal would go on and win comfortably, probably scoring a hatful. now ok, that didn't happen but scotland's goal was a total fluke. ipswich started the better but after about quarter of an hour it was charlton who looked the better side and i always had the feeling it would be them who go on and win it. i've received a lot of stick from their fans over the past two years or so for saying they remind me of us under roeder but the truth is just that - that's who they remind me of! jewell will go - he won't survive much longer - he's totally lost the crowd inside the stadium. they are simply putting off the inevitable. interesting to see who takes over because as i say, i'd put money on them being bottom three at christmas right now. their best player, apart from scotland, and i'm being honest here, was nathan ****ing ellington when he came on. that is how bad they have become. and even he missed a sitter!

guru, you can give us stats if you like, but having watched both clubs this weekend i can tell you without any shadow of doubt that norwich aren't far off getting things right whilst ipswich are a million miles away.

its funny cos people only tend to shout stats when the stats work in their favour, no matter how irrelevant they are. well if you'd like some stats, how about your minus ten goal difference. i'll give you that ipswich have only scored five goals this season, two of which were own goals. so you've scored 3 goals off your own backs from 7 games. hardly prolific yourselves are you...

at the end of the day, i've only seen one of your matches - i've seen all of ours - but what i saw over this weekend was a norwich side who are playing attractive football, looking solid but lacking a little confidence and a little luck in front of goal, while down at ipswich i saw a half empty, dead atmosphere which then turned poisonous, a manager walking a tightrope who should have been put out of his and your misery twelve months ago, a lack of passion, lack of endeavour, lack of quality, lack of imagination and a lack of depth on your bench.

keep churning out your stat (neither of which show either team in a positive light) and i'll keep telling you what i see <ok>

I'm not denying we are in trouble, probably more than you because our trouble is more deep rooted within the main office of Portman Rd. A change of manager may help short term for us, but in the long term we need to sort out Cleggy. Perhaps relegation would do us good, it would certainly answer that nagging question in regards to ME's commitment to the club.

Regards you boys, didn't i say that Who-ton would be more defensive (certainly you guys needed to improve that area) but at compensating you attacking that has took you so far in such a quick time?

hughton has done very well with our defence so far - who'd have thought leon barnett would be doing this well?! but if you think we've lost some attacking mentality you're wrong because we are creating just as many chances as we did under lambert - the simple truth is, we aren't taking those chances whereas we were last year. you only need to watch our games to see this! it'll also help when we get our two wingers back from injury. we are passing the ball better then we did under lambert too. as i keep saying, we just need a little bit of luck and a couple of goals to fly in. we had to become more secure at the back this season because we were having to score 3 a game just to get a point sometimes.

Trouble for Norwich is that this is the team that Whoton inherited, mainly L1 & Championship players that Lambert motivated enough to do well last season. The trouble is that Whoton has had a personality and charisma bypass and couldn't motivate his way out of a wet plastic bag yet alone his players! You only have to look at Fatman Holt this season! Mind you Whoton is good at managing decline just look at what he left at Birmingham! <laugh>
