Just watched the highlights on iplayer and neither of them looked like penalties compared to what we've been turned down by. Oh well sounds like they were the better team anyways
From what I saw on tv last night, the first was a pen on the grounds that Taylor's arm was away from his body and appeared to move towards the ball. For the second HH definitely grought the guy down but without a slowmo replay I couldn't see if it was in or out of the box. That is my only doubt. However, what a total balls up for their second. We messed up in a similar way at that end when they beat us 1.0 2 seasons ago. So disappointing to lose from such a commanding position.
If you raise your hand towards the ball, especially facing a free kick, it's a penalty no question. The second one was a close call as to whether it was inside the box or not. The ball was in but Parr wasn't in my opinion - should've been a free kick just outside. I know the odds are always on the penalty taker to beat the keeper, but it looked to me that Marshall had given up before the ball was kicked. He seemed to have no enthusiasm toward the task and was waiting for another "Kermorgant" moment. Perhaps that's a bit unfair, but I'd prefer a Grobbelar type waving his arms and wobbling his legs to put the taker off.
Apparently we scored against the run of play but even so, we should be winning games like that if we want to be in the top two. Another of those games to sober everyone up i guess. As for the pens, the first was and the second wasn't.
Playing the dreaded Christmas Pudding formation away from home doesnt help either. I think we were just a bit unlucky on Saturday all 3 of their goals should have been avoided.
Quite right, but the tactics and formation used by Malky meant we had to soak up pressure for most of the game. Both our goals were lucky, teams can't get a penalty if we don't let them play in our half of the pitch.
