So you think players should be played based on their form 8 flippin' years ago? Not for England he's not.
I know, it's getting way too repetitive now with the Holt/Lambert comparisions. Some pundits really need to do their research, I'm talking about you Lawrenson, he is an awful pundit.
What games have you been watching mate?Rooney has been shocking for England at international tournaments (expect euro 2004) he was awesome back then. Since 2004 he has been very, very poor for England. He has had his go, he didn't do enough. He should never play for England again.
It's the biggest honour for any player to play for their country. Don't be silly man. He'd love to play in the next world cup for England, it would be a dream come true for him. I sense that someone is a bit of a glory hunter and maybe a bit of a turncoat, am I right?xx
How about: -------------------Hart Walker-----Cahill-----Caulker-----Baines ----Ward-Prowse-----Cleverly ------------------Powell Johnson---------------------------Lallana -----------------Rooney Rooney is a fantastic player when he's fully fit.
Maybe. He has been very poor for England at international tournaments (except euro 2004). I think he needs to make way for Lambert.
England with 442 does not suit Rooney, if we had played 433 for the last 10 years then we would have seen the best from him and from Gerrard and Lampard
No. You know nobody here is confusing those terms. Ability improves, and is almost permanent over the course of a career, unless a severe injury cramps a player's style. Form can go up and down like a bloody yo-yo. Rooney's confidence, when playing for England is palpably low, and his form is not what it was.
4-4-2 or 4-3-3 doesn't make any difference to Rooney's form. He played in a 4-42 formation in euro 2004.
I'm not going to explain myself further, Joe. I've been completely clear to anyone who understands the distinction between ability and form. You obviously do, and I think you're just deciding not to, in this particular topic.
Well that's not true. You've rightly said that a player's ability can't decline bar some sort of major injury, so if he's worse now than he was in Euro 2004 like some people on here are claiming, and it's not due a decline in ability, then what can it be other than form? Or of course it can be that I'm right and he hasn't got worse at all.
