From not playing Bale at left-back, leaving Defoe completely isolated or having a really tough, physical midweek game with a lot of the same players, hopefully. We need to get Dawson, Huddlestone, Townsend and the like in for the Carlisle game and hope that they managed to get through it.
I've just taken a look at the match history between us and Hoops and there a lot of dour one goal wins on either side with the occasional thrashing. I'm still concerned though. Defoe still missing good chances.
We have loads of improvement to come - the incentives are enormous - probably utd will stuff us, that's accepted - it's after that the chances happen for us that we need to take - starting (i think) with maribor
True, but he's not getting enough of the ball or much decent support, most of the time. Isn't that his 7th of the season in all, too?
PNP,I hope that AVB doesn't play the one striker role for Defoe and that he plays Bale in his best position. Still talk of playing Lloris but Brad saved us.
Lloris a better keeper than Brad so of course there will be talk of him playing how many clean shets has Brad kept this season - none how many Lloris - 100% who's ranked as world class that's right - Lloris who stays on his line and gives us kittens- that's right Brad on a different note well done JV - i was delighted when we signed him - even more delighted now could be our new Mabutt and then some - what a player well done Levy for getting him in
Vert is top top class and Caulker looks good and confident next to him. Vert marshalling the defence seems a better idea than Gallas marshalling it....but we need Willy G to stick around I do like his attitude.
Vertonghen spectacular. Even though Gallas played well--I remember a header from a very critical spot perfectly directed to the one open Spur to start a break--I wonder why we don't start Caulker. He looks excellent, and will only get better. I thought we might come out flat after the assault by Lazio. We've got to play non-starters against Carlisle and take our chances. Simple as that. This breaks a very long spell of watching games where the team I was rooting for never came back, and often lost a lead. It may be fifteen games or more. QPR deserved a point, and look like a real contender for top six or seven, I'd say. Still, the announcer who said they totally dominated is out of his mind. Spurs led every stat. Poor finishing/good keeping, but the free kicks are looking much better. I know we always lose at Man Uo but I'm hoping for an energetic, hard-pressing approach. One advantage of the AVB vs. Harry game is that the latter, relying as it does on countering, may never get out of the blocks against the best teams. Taking it to the other team in theory may work better.
Agree. I thought it was time for Gallas to move on last year, yet its clear we have a great deal of quality at the back, why should Caulker be held back by Gallas? Caulker & Verts are more then capable at the back, plus we have kaboul and dawson. Verts really does look outstanding, he seems to excel at interceptions and with him at centre back and Lloris (soon to be our number 1) we have two confident leaders at the back, which bodes well for the future.
Just got back from the game and just read this garbage. We would have been 3 goals down at half time if it wasn't for Brad Friedel. The keeper situation is crystal clear. Friedel has to give 9 out of 10 performances at least in every game to keep his place. Anything less, then Lloris will be waiting and ready. Friedel came up to the required level last week, so he played, quite rightly, today. Today he again performed to the required level, so he will quite rightly start again next week at OT. Push your bias to one side and live with it.
Can't believe how well the rangers played considering the raft of enforced changes to the back 4. Vs Chelsea: Fabio Ferdinand Nelson Bosingwa Spurs: Onouha Hill Nelson Dyer
Out of order Swords.. again! _________________________________________ QPR were bloody good today, Spurs were lucky.
Was at the game....Brad F saved our arses in the dire first half... 2 very good saves and 1 good save. He can not be dropped...he was not responsible for the goal...until he plays badly the shirt should be his. I ain't really an AVB fan but think he did well to make the change at half time.
Brad made some good saves, but were saves you'd expect a top keeper like LLoris to make as well, but Brad still stays on his line and causes us problems and will continue to do so, To repeat I've nothing against Brad, I think he's a great bloke and a good keeper, but he's not as good as Lloris. no clean sheets this season for Brad, 100% record for Hugo. Lloris is faster off his line than Brad, maybe he would have saved Zamora's goal. Lloris is more highly rated in world football than Brad, indeed along with Bale he's our most highly rated player, it's all wrong that he's not in the team. However, there is a case for saying it would be unfair on him to make his lge debut at OT.
Just got back from an extended post-match evening. Good to see that most of you watched the same game I did as I honestly felt the better team overall lost. How anyone can fault Friedel is beyond me. Best of luck for the rest of the season.
We rallied well in the 2nd half, and AVB must be given due credit for that, since he made the changes that brought the goals.
Glad to see someone agrees with me. If anyone wants to know how Friedel can be faulted, try reading this if people don't belive me. http://windycoys.blogspot.co.uk/201..._campaign=Feed: blogspot/cgaIL (Windy's Blog) I'm not saying Brad is a bad keeper, I'm saying Lloris is better. Oh and notice Jonas', Chris' and Jill's comments BTW - and none of them are me BTW
