quote from mcghee....
a couple of other suprise additions

the only thing im surprised about with this signing is....
1) this keeper has less 1st team experience than walker who we currently have on loan from chelsea.
2) this keeper has also played no 1st team minutes in the football league yet. so gough who has played just 1 game for us in our heavy defeat last game of last season is actually more experienced.

then you get higgs who stated this...
Mark has stated that he is only prepared to bring the right sort of player to the club, one who will improve what we already have here. There are funds available to him to do that, and I trust that he will spend it wisely. We have seen before what happens when managers bring in large numbers of players, who ultimately do not enhance the team.

how the hell is this signing right for our club when you see my 2 reasons above? how will he improve what we already have? looks like another signing who will not enhance the team.

<doh>

Can't disagree with any of that. I just can't see the point of this signing.

Bloody hell at least give the lad a chance, players have to start from somewhere, who the **** was Lambert before you signed him

Shiny - he's a keeper who has never played league football to go with our other two keepers who have less than 9 league games experience between them.

This is when we desparately need at least one striker and a combative midfielder.

I don't want to diss the lad, but we don't need him.

shiny, i will support and back him if he plays. never said i wouldnt. im just very baffled we even signed him. we are very much in need of a striker. we have 2 keepers already and none of the goals we have conceded has been anything to do with our current keepers. example they havent done an impression of david james and cost us points! then read higgs statement that i added above. this signng goes totally against higgs statement and in no way will improve or enhance us. i hope he does but just cant see it.

Found this on the transfer rumour site

Bristol Rovers will reattempt to sign Bristol City striker Brett Pitman on a short term loan. Pitman was close to signing a deal Monday but could not meet Pitmans wage demands. It appears that City will now part pay Pitmans wages which will pave the way for a one month loan deal.

How about this one about McGoo..

Michael Paton to sign a two year deal with Bristol Rovers this week. The free agent links links up again with Mark McGhee after his release from Aberdeen.

Would be surprised at this as I am told McGhee has quit but is staying on short term to help Bristol's board find a replacement.
