Some things are more important. imo. FC had his chance as far as i am concerned. But its not my call whatever happens. Bruce has got a happy ship playing top notch football. Now the goals are flowing. But IF the news on Fryatt is as feared then we are down to just Mclean - Proschwitz and Simpson as out and out strikers so YES we need another. The fact that Bruce and FC are close is fueling the speculation. As things stand its down to MON now.
Nothing is more important than promotion. I can't think of any available strikers better than Campbell. He should be a better player now than when we had him and when we had him he destroyed this division.
If the Allams are prepared to fund a deal for Fraizer then there is no doubt Steve Bruce would want him. Question is whether Fraizer would want to drop down a division?
Well Fulham have cooled there supposed interest so it looks like its the Sunderland bench or dropping down. Now that the Huddersfield and Beckford deal has broken down (sky yesterday) then the Udders may switch attention. But until MON gives the green light its simply speculation for now.
A potential scenario is that once the loan window is shut and Simpson picks up an unfortunate injury there is no hope of getting anyone in who has the talent Fraizer does. If Fraizer is available and the Allams sanction a deal then Steve Bruce would not think twice about signing him
I would be well pleased if FC was signed .. in my opinion our chances of promotion would take a leap forward with him in our squad. I dare say Tickler will be dancing in the stands every time FC scores.
I also believe IF Steve Bruce wants someone the Allams WILL back him. Assem and Ehab Allams Black and Amber Army
You can say that about any signing. Players are ambitious and want to play at the highest level so FC would be welcomed at City if he increased the possibility of promotion. Like everyone else I want Simpson to get a fair chance now but not by reducing our options. Having more competition should make JS a better player and if it doesn't HCAFC can't afford to pander to him.
First of all the loan window does not shut until the start of November so No rush for now. Once Fryatts position is known then action will be taken. Just for now i dont see what the need is when things are looking good. Also imo Steve Bruce will have had a heads up from SAF as to which of his kids will be allowed out on loan especially once MU get knocked out of the league cup. I know they cannot. Looks like they did other business in august. It was just media speculation and rumour. I support Hull City not an individual. I was not happy when City signed Dave Bamber but still cheered his goal. Whatever FC does or does not do my views on him wont change. FC and his dad strung the club along when they should have said thanks but No thanks from the start. imo.
Feels to me more and more that we're building a team, or at least an ethos for a team that would get promoted and stay in the PL. Having 11 players who are guaranteed a game every week, with 1 or 2 backups just doesn't cut it, and the better players should know this. We need depth, across all positions and that seems to be what we're doing. TWS are going to suffer from a paper thin squad along with a few other clubs, but us, even with Matty out at the moment, don't seem overly troubled by this, and I think SB has more than just a plan B, he's clever enough to swap things around and is accumulating the players to do that so we don't become too predicatable. Out of our current squad, I wonder how many would cut it in the PL?
This is football - eleven V eleven. Personalities and plots belong in soap operas not in a football club. I wouldn't refuse to use a good mechanic because he had a secret love child with the lollypop lady and I wouldn't care if Margaret Thatcher scored the goals to get us up (as long as I could shoot her afterwards ).
Out of the starting 11 on saturday I would say Alex Bruce would be the one to find the Premiership a step too far. However, his performances have been very impressive so far
Good post mate. Playing like we did we would have beaten half of the PL without a doubt. The things that worries me most is that looking at saturdays matchday 18 player team sheet what have we over that ? With Hobbs and Cairney and almost certainly Fryatt being long term injuries that just leaves us Paul McKenna(available again after suspension for Lesta game) - Liam Cooper and Conor Townsend before we hit the kids. IF and its only an IF Alex Bruce and Olifinjana are missing for the Leeds game LC/CT would fill the bench spaces with Evans and Rosie or McShane starting. Its no wonder that Steve Bruce wants at least 2 more quality players in.
I dont disagree with your sentiments at all. I just have my views on FC morals or lack of. Maybe a compromise then. FC helps shoot City back to the PL then i will go and shoot him. Deal. Lol
Steve Bruce said in his after match interview that Bruce jnr took a bang to the knee and Oli had tightening of the hamstring. Nothing serious but they would be looked at today. Just using that as an extreme for my point. Hope all are fit and rarin to go tuesday though.
