Personally i was expecting our crowds to be a little larger than they have been so far this season. It said in the Echo today that we would be expecting a crowd of about 23k for tomorrows match with Leeds, hate them or hate them, they have sold thier allocation out and no doubt there will be quite a number of Welsh Plastic Leeds fans dotted about the stadium. However i would be quietly disappointed if we didnt get at least 24,500 for this match. Come on down and support the City to the Premiership and get some top Entertainment along the way.<ok>
 
I think Leeds were limited to 1,700 due to segregation so not a full allocation which is a shame. Hopefully the walk up will increase ticket sales tomorrow. Should be a very competative game and the score lot closer than many think. Credit to the Leeds fans and the way they travel in numbers.

I too have been disappointed, but I don't think we will get over 24,000 tomorrow. After our recent failures in the play-offs and the (mostly) dismal entertainment on offer last year it will take a few months for the missing two thousand to return - even if we play as well as we did against Wolves. Malky's statement that we shouldn't always expect to see the attacking and exciting football we saw against Wolves has probably not helped our future attendances either. Promising to be more boring is not going to bring them back!
 
Just lulling the Weeds into a false sense of security as Colin tries with his mind games with us. A bit of reverse psychology.

They have sold Howson, Clayton and Snodgrass without recruiting anyone of a similar class. Okay Becchio and Ross can be dangerous but shut off their supply and they don't have much more.
 
We need to realise that times are tough and money is tight amongst our core support. 22k is a good crowd though I think we will get more tomorrow.
 
Due to the floating price system a ticket in the Canton Stand will set you back £31.

Loads of tickets available.

Those turning up today better bring plenty of cash.

There will be Leeds plastics in the crowd. Wont hear them though. Mostly blokes in their 50s who "supported" Leeds in the 70s.

Around 24,000 today I reckon.

yeah crowds will be smaller for a while prices are high and the season doesnt take shape until feb march.......which gives them 2-3 months of something interesting 2 spend on.

I've lived in England for over 1/2 my life, but I've only supported / followed one team. The team who's terraces I stood on as a lad. The team who's ground was closest to where I lived.

The supporters being talked about here are those who followed Leeds when they were one of the top teams in Europe because of that fact. No real affinity with the club.

We normally sell out our away allocation. The ONLY reason why our home gates are around 22-23,000 is so many fans are boycotting due to the Bates scenario.

Also, don't you mean Love them or hate them ???

If they go to games to support the team, I don't see the problem. I'm sure you have a few fans from places like Norway who have no real affinity with the city of Cardiff but just admire the team. Not to mention all your new Malaysian fans. A lot of our Welsh Whites didn't follow us due to European trophies anyway, but because of Welsh players like Garys Sprake and Speed who clearly caught the eye more than their local team could.

So much for our innovative new pricing policy - charging £31 is a really good way of stopping people from coming to the game.
 
Leeds were the team I followed as the top flight team (not support). I have always supported the Bluebirds. I no longer follow a top flight side since Leeds dropped out of the top flight. However, they did not replace the Bluebirds when we played in the same league.
Does this make me a plastic fan of both teams? Bear in mind fan is short form of fanatic. I think not.

Got a problem with this....surey plastics are those who picked up on a team because of their (temporary) success and they come and go. I do not support the club nearest where I live(d) nor where I was on the terraces as a lad. Cardiff has always been my team of early choice, for which I have suffered all my long life. I follow Liverpool from the times when Toshack joined them (boyhood hero!) and take an interest in teams where I have lived but not to the same extent. Thus, I will look for Nottignham results, Stoke City and now Frankfurt Eintracht....but I also follow strongly the German miners' team, Schalke 04.....both for which I have also suffered heavily but not for so long.
I haven't stood on the terraces for yonks due to geography, but still follow closely CCFC.
By the way, I even contemplated getting a season ticket this year as a show of support but realise I could not share it with anyone and could therefore not get value for money.
