Perhaps my problem is watching Spurs play brilliantly towards the end of last season and expecting the team to start off as they finished, new manager or not.
I have seen mamagers come and go and to be fair, many have been expected to be saviours.Few have been!
I can recall George Graham being given the job. Why?He wasn't a Spurs man.Defence was his thing .He didn't last too long but he did, somehow, win the League Cup one season.
I can take Spurs losing(I lie!) but I want to see Spurs playing great(or good) football.Harry provided it until the Harry For England bs took over and we lost our way for 7 games!
Please Mr New Spurs manager, don't walk about the dressing room like a fox in the henhouse!Promise?

Recently after my walk into the light , I see my love of Spurs from a zone of fulfilment . Dark vibes must be discarded my fine comrades.
Ride with me to Arcadia, our holy trio (AVB, Levy, Lewis) will show us the path of enlightenment .
    Onwards , together, upwards,
    Sid.

Zone of fulfillment sounds like the penalty area. Take care Sid keep your eye on the ball.

I don't think that the start we have made has been too bad considering the demolition jobs WBA performed on Liverpool and Everton. They are obviously in good early season form. I was disappointed that we lost to a penalty at Newcastle and naturally against Norwich but a team to which we lost last season. Now I think things will start to improve. AVB seems confident in himself and knows what he wants to do and the players he wants so I'm lurking for a while on him as a subject.

    Well said.

I didn't want AVB, I'm not sure he's the right person for the job .... but most importantly I want Spurs to succeed so that means I want AVB to succeed. I *want* to be wrong about him!

Thanks Vim and I concur with you. I want to be wrong and I will surrender meekly if he proves me wrong. I still wanted Blanc or Loewe and still really do.

I think the start has been bad, it's poor to get two points from these fixtures, a team looking for CL would expect 6/7 points from these.

I think that people have forgotten our rancid run of form because of the positive play in the last few games.
Once we stopped using two holding midfielders, due to Parker's injury, we strolled past a broken Blackburn, finished off Bolton, thoroughly outplayed a dire Villa side despite having 10 men and had a fairly comfortable win against Fulham.
Three rubbish sides, two of which went down and one which probably deserved to, plus a good Fulham side with nothing to play for.

The manager's getting stick because a lot of people preferred his predecessor and aren't happy with either our start or our transfer activity.

I started a thread about our transfer activity PNP,I just wasn't totally convinced we'd signed the right players. I thought our play last season was a bit laboured at times struggling to beat teams that we should have beaten easily. The Newcastle result was totally out of sync with the other scores and we didn't repeat a 5-0 again. What concerned me there was that we were 4-0 up at half time and yet only scored one more in the second half when we should have buried them 6 or 7-0.
As for this season I'd have liked Willian and Moutinho.
