For having the temerity to give evidence in a criminal case in a court of law?

Now, I appreciate we're on dodgy ground here, given the Suarez-Evra non-handshake debacle (the one part of the episode that Suarez DID apologise for), but isn't Anton's actions tantamount to witness harrassment?

Think again Anton, and be bigger than this. You have every right to refuse to shake John Terry's hand, and most right-minded people will support you choice, but all Cole did, as I understand, was to offer a character witness to Terry. You're surely not condemning him for doing this on the basis that Terry is not the same skin colour as you and Cole, therefore he should have altered or withdrew his evidence?

As said, think again Anton. You didn't get the result you wanted in court, but you're surely better than this.

I think he feels that since the court completely botched Terry's case, he's been wronged somewhere.

Given that the video evidence shows some pretty damning "evidence" and that Anton is certain that he was racially abused, he probably thinks that Cole lied in open court about the incident.

(Personally I don't think there was anything Cole "lied" about, he gave character evidence)

Anton probably hoped that Cole would identify Terry as a racist in previous incidents or at least not try to canonize him as a saint, and this is to him not a "he's black so he should have helped me" thing, but more of a "he's black so he should have realised what a **** Terry is" kind of thing. *

*Not that I have much of an opinion on Terry.

Terry may not have been proven guilty in a court of law, but he still has to answer to the FA. Think, if the FA hadn't been dragging his case out just so he could play in the WCQ, this wouldn't be happening.

As for Ashley Cole, who can blame him for not wanting to shake his hand? He defended Terry, even though there was clear video evidence that Terry said something.

I can understand why he doesn't want to shake both their hands and I don't blame him.

When Anton factually recalled that Terry liked to partake of his colleagues' wives/girlfriends, Cole reportedly said " You can't say that to JT!"

Given his belly crawling to Terry, I can see why Anton might not want to shake his hand, or Terry's.

Besides, Terry's case is due up before the FA shortly...

I am just tired of it really. If he skips over Terry then that is that, a la Bridge but I highly doubt you will see Terry grab his arm either to stop him. If Evra didn't grab Suarez arm it might have been a little less of a deal ( a little).

Only one person made a big deal out of it. My opinion still remains the same, the Suarez and Evra case should have gone to court. The whole world would have seen for themselves that Evra is a lying bastard that was put up to it by his bastard manager. I also reckon that due to the amount of times Evra changed his statement, he would have ended up in jail for contempt of court. Luis Suarez would have walked free and his reputation intact.

Suarez was lucky it didnt go to court. The excuse that its ok in his country wouldnt of washed in any UK court.

If it had gone to court, Suarez would have got off, as it would had to be proven ''without reasonable doubt''. It couldn't have been as nobody else heard Suarez say anything, therefore he would have got off. Evra however would have had to provide a written statement to police saying ''x was said'' that written report would have been used in court. Had Evra changed any statement whilst standing as a witness under oath, then he would be done for contempt, the case would have been thrown out. Evra would more than likely be given a prison sentence which is normal for contempt, and outed as the liar he actually is.
