Neil Warnock's future as Leeds United manager has been cast into doubt by a dispute over expensive loan signings from the Premier League.
Warnock, who has been working without signing a contract for the current season, is pushing his club to use the Championship's emergency loan system for new recruits in central midfield and attack.

[...]

Although a deal was agreed with Ken Bates to purchase his majority shareholding, the group failed to meet the payment terms by the July handover date and now seem unlikely to complete.

Bates is understood to be unimpressed by Warnock's activities in the transfer market, which have included several attempts to press Leeds' chairman into signing players.

According to several sources, Warnock has been dissatisfied with the resources available to him to secure promotion to the Premier League, and has discussed the possibility of walking out on the club.

This is coming from Gwyn Williams' mouth effectively. Gary Cooper saying that the 'payment terms' claim is Bates propaganda, and backing the reliable source saying it's an indemnities issue.

Are people going to keep sitting idly by as our dreams are torn away from us once again?

If the takeover fails, there will be next level protesting and direct action. If Warnock walks, I predict a riot.

Reading it you can see why its feasible, but any of us could have written that because of what we know or suspect.

The payment terms bit is a load of bollocks, as we know Bates would have been all over the media saying he couldn't deal with chancers. We know he's still quiet and obviously hoping his tactics work, and we also know that the cash has been lodged with a top bank. No the problem lies with Bates and probably the indemnity clause.

Warnock walking is also easy to say, because we always knew there would be fireworks between Bates and him. Warnock would have walked earlier but met with the potential new owners and that made him stay. Bates should have gone by now so Warnock and Bates will be going at it until bates caves in. The other bit mentioned about Warnocks contract or lack of one, well we know he's got a contract until the end of the season.

This is crap journalism again and now getting social media time. Nobody is in the know on this subject all we do know is that bates is a C U N T and Warnock could be a legend if given the backing by an owner with just a bit of ambition

Yet again there is nothing of substance in there. It's all "understood to be" and "According to several sources" without naming or directly quoting from Bates, Warnock, the new buyers or any of these mysterious sources (of which there are apparently "several").

More bullshit that anyone on twitter can make up without ever having to corroborate any of it.

So they were fake Sheihks!!

His source is Gwyn Williams. The editor of the Square Ball confirmed this a while back. The two of them go way back to their West London days. If he names his sources, they will lose their jobs, simple as. You clearly don't know the first thing about journalistic reporting.

**** sake. The backlash if Warnock walks must be huge.

I wonder if Bates will have the bottle to show his piss stained trousers for the Hull match if he forces Warnock into quitting.

How some fans still back Bates is outrageous ,take the money and run you thieving old bastard and never show your mug again!

People already know his address in Monaco. The location of his flat in Leeds is also spreading via private channels. If he ****s things up, he will bring unwanted attention on himself.

Feel sorry For Suzanne (on so many levels) Bates is about to become even more unpopular. Cant be good at his age, still the nasty bastard will probably live into his 100's <grr>

I know his address in Monaco, where he frequents socially over there and of course when he is at Elland Road so its pretty much public knowledge what he gets up to. Worrying with the Psycho's he is pissing off!

Didn't he also publish someones address in his program notes? That was ok for him to do because said person 'was in the book'

I hope he gets **** everywhere he goes but the thick skinned bastard is probably prepared for it. Sell up Ken, take the money and enjoy your senior years in retirement rather than putting your mrs through all of this. AND GIVE OUR ****ING CLUB BACK!

I really hope that when everything comes out about this fiasco, that the SFA get involved, because they must smell a rat if these people were not stupid enough to buy something that could come back to bite them.

FACT: Theres never been one deal that Bates has done, that wasn't rotten, with someone or some company getting their fingers burnt.

<laugh> they'll get the sack, but it's ok for you to mention their names on here. I may not know the first thing about journalistic reporting but I know bullshit when I smell it.

Yes, because it wasn't Castles himself who leaked that info, it was Williams in a pissed-up rant. His fault.

But no professional journo is going to print 'MY SOURCE, THAT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR BLOKE GWYN WILLIAMS, SAYS THIS...' because it sounds totally amateurish.

Castles gets info, but obviously with a pro-Bates bias. You have to read between the lines. Are you seriously saying you don't think Warnock and the takeover bid are now right on the brink?
