I wonder how much of this is true. - none of it i expect. To me, it just seems like another story that's been made up to slate AVB so the media circus continues.

He doesn't sound too bright if this report is true.

You have signed and are a Spurs player, surprisingly the manager will pick the team.

perhaps promises were made? After all, breaking promises does seem to be a common theme running through the THFC hierarchy.

I don't blame Lloris being pissed off at all, and don't think he should sshhh at all. He's the French captain and rated as one of the best in the world according to various reports I've read. He would expect to go straight into the team.

The manager picks the team and should be picking him. There was no need for AVB to make the comments he did and now he's going to face the flak over it. Another massive OG for AVB, he's the one who should have sshhhd.

I can see a case for HL not playing against Reading, but if he doesn't then that will fuel the flames.

Another fine mess Spurs have gotten into.

Once again some of this is down to ENIC, had we paid the extra we could, it seems, got Lloris a while back, thus giving him time to settle in and make his debut v Toon.

Sorry Ghoddle but that is utter rubbish. No one should expect to walk into a team whoever they are. To suggest that AVB should not express satisfaction with a player who has provided consistent good performances for Spurs is also quite unbelievable. You do not introduce new players into a team by pissing off the incumbents.

You are allowing your own views about Friedel to cloud your judgement when it is not about your views but those of the manager and he has behaved perfectly consistently within that.

The only mess is in your perception of who should be in the team.

So who is captain at Spurs now ? Is it still Dawson? You can't help wonder about AVB's thinking if he wanted to offload your captain to QPR, then changed his mind about him when Dawson couldn't agree personal terms. Along with buying Loris and then telling him he will sit on the bench, you can't help thinking that AVB hardly inspires confidence in his players.

The poster suggested broken promises was becoming a theme, you asked based on what, I replied that on top of this, Daws was led to believe he'd be club captain, only to find out a few days later Spurs had agreed a fee with QPR. That said the article wasn't intended as an anti AVB slur, more about players keeping things in house.

Basing arguments on media reports is like building a house on a bog. No matter how good it looks it will all disappear quite soon.

Lots of teams sell their captains. What's the big deal? Arsenal sell all their captains for instance. They're doing ok.

Couldn't agree more. Little else to do atm though in a quiet week. :) It may well be twisting of words in interpretation, but I don't think the Dawson incident was...was it?...did i miss something?

Based on what?

Stimac, Modric & Krancjar (sp) have claimed Levy lied over the transfer saga.

AVB lied about being linked to the manager's job at WHL.

The Lyon Chairman accused Levy of going back on his word during the Lloris negotiations.

Pretty damning I think...

You have just shown how gullible you are to media reports. Pretty damming I think. <laugh>

Oh dear. Is that the best response you can come up with?

I can provide direct quotes, but will let you find them for yourself. After all, they are readily available.

Face the facts. Your club's top brass lie to everyone about everything and you fans lie to yourself about your team's abilities. It runs right through your club - top to toe.

Then it would appear to a futile exercise talking to us. Bye!
