Thinking about it , we could set up a few swinging ropes and trapezes , it will make those boring cold nights a lot more interesting with height challenged persons swinging all over the shop..................................

If you're that bothered about standing, go watch your local non-league team. They could use the support.

Depends where you are in the ground. If you're in a family area and refuse to sit, OK, but I go in the end stands at Elland Road which have a tradition of standing to support the team, so if old people and kids go there, they know they risk having to stand for prolonged periods. It goes with the terrority. I took my little brother in the South Stand and he wanted to sit down, but I told him it's not what Leeds fans do and he managed to man up and accept it for 45 minutes a half.

What a stupid argument. I might as well say to you 'if you're that bothered about having a big squad on sound financial footing, go watch Man City.' I'm not giving up my team just because Lord Justice Taylor (****) outlawed standing at Elland Road. That's why I signed the FSF's safe standing petition.

At the away game at Middlesborough last season nobody sat down for the whole of the match, but it was a mutual thing and we were mostly of the same height so didn't miss a lot, although my two little nephews did struggle at times with rather large and sozzled fan in front of them who was all over the place.

Good - it's very exciting and attacking, the quality is very good (talking about the Premier League).

Bad - play acting, sliding tackles all but banned, footballers are over-paid, ticket prices are sky high, too many people support Scumchester United.

I'm not saying give up on Leeds, I'm just saying even if you can't stand at Elland Road you can stand at your local non-league club so if you really want to stand, you can do so there as well as going to Elland Road. I sometimes go to my local non-league club where I usually stand but that doesn't mean I'm any less of a Portsmouth fan. Plus, the Man City argument doesn't work as you'll have a connection with your local area (and by extension, your local club) while I have absolutely no connection with Man City.

Don't get why we always have to sit down. Why not bring back terraces like in Signal Iduna park in Dortmund. The south stand is a terrace that can hold 25,500 spectators which is the largest stand in Europe. they have fold down seats in the higher sector! why can't we have something like that here?

Speaking of non-league, Jo Tessem's Totton & Eling got a great 2-2 draw against Weymouth in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round, so that's a replay for them. Sholing and Newport IOW won as well.

Fear is the main reason in this country. Obviously low league clubs still have terrace but to do it on the scales of the past only makes safety and policing more difficult.

Economically its a bad move for clubs too. All have spent a lot of money on new all seater stadia or converting older stadiums. Bringing safe standing will barely lift capacity and ticket prices would have to be reduced.
