Take a step back, in the last 10 years our attendances has gone up three fold as a result of a new stadium and subsequent promotions, during that time people who we're not dedicated city fans (did not attend games before) have shelled out a lot of cash following the team. As the economic times get harder and the 'sugar rush' is over these people will gradually drift away.
Just face it, not everyone is as bothered about attending football games as some of the people on here, it's a pastime and other things in life take priority for some.
In the past ten years we have sustained a 200% rise in attendance, as the financial situation and unemployment in the city has gradually got worse, not many other clubs in the country can say that, it's easy to forgot where we have come from.
Just be grateful we still get decent crowds and welcome those floating fans back when they return.

I'm not saying that crowds definitely won't improve. The reason I am comparing the three home games we've had this year to the first three of last season is because there has been a noticeable decrease in numbers, in spite of the optimism most fans seemed to have pre-season.
My concerns over the crowds so far are for three reasons:
1. Our crowd for the Rotherham game, a Saturday Yorkshire Derby at 3pm, attracted a lower crowd than the corresponding fixture with Macclesfield (who brought less than 1% as many supporters as did RUFC) last season, which was a midweek match;
2. Our crowd for the Brighton game, the first league match of the season, attracted a crowd some 4,000 lower than the one with Blackpool in 2011, which was a televised Friday night match.
3. The Bolton match is, with the exception of maybe the 5 Yorkshire derbies, one of the most attractive matches for part-time or 'floating' supporters. If we struggle to get past the 15,000 mark for that, what kind of crowd are we going to get for games against the likes of Peterborough United?
The reason I am comparing the crowds we've had so far to the crowds we got in League Two is to emphasise that clearly more people will turn up if they believe they are going to be watching an entertaining side, who are in with a reasonable shot of achieving something. As you said yourself, part of the reason we got a big crowd against Swansea was that we'd won our previous match 6-1. We beat Swansea, then won comfortably 5-1 at Northampton, and so again got another big crowd for the next home game after that: 19,000 against Carlisle. I thought your post ironic as you made this point yourself, in spite of having earlier expressed your opinion that I had "something wrong with me" for being surprised that so many voters said **** football and a goal roughly every 10 games (slight exaggeration, I know) was only a secondary factor for the majority of non-attenders.
There is a difference in income, but it is also cheaper to live in Hull than in Brighton. I was just impressed by the whole set up and its sticks in my mind when compared to visits to other clubs.
These are the first two home gates of every season at The KC, except the Premier League because that they where obviously going to be sell-outs.

If it annoys visitors, that's even more of reason to do it - I understand we don't even sell beer in the away end

Seeing our supporters doing it in front of 57,000 home fans, on global television, at the Emirates in 2008 was the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen. Sucking another man off whilst dressed as Boy George and listening to the Village People is less gay than that.

Was it on telly? I never saw it. I thought it was a youtube video done by a City fan, which got instant success (or not) and everyone took the piss.
Remember the Everton fans doing something similiar in the league cup match a few years ago- mauled by the Toffees or something.
It was on either ESPN or Setanta, from what I recall. It's not just Everton fans who take the piss either though, it's everyone who's ever seen us do the gay paw thing
