I bet we buy someone else instead of Carroll... Rodgers just doesn't seem to rate Andy or want to give him a chance.

Borini floundered game after game and Suarez looks tired... but Carroll barely got a chance.

He'd still get paid if he's injured, he just wont be paid as much than if he was playing but understand what you're saying.

He's a player that if you give him 3 chances in a game, he'll take at least 1 however it will be interesting to see how he fits into the system. Whether he would be able to feed on the scraps and knockdowns of Crouch/Jones/Jerome because he obviously doesn't have that pace anymore. Could be a good player and get about 10 goals a season, or could struggle and keep getting niggling injuries as per his last 4 years.

I know what you saying mate but i honestly think pulis trying to play a differant way with the 7 signings he as made nzonzi and adam can pass a ball not like your midfield can but believe me when i say that them two are a million times better than delap and whitehead, also kightly from wolves is a good signing, i will pass judgement on owen at christmas but to be honest if he gets us 10 goals and keeps us up i will be more than happy. Can you have Crouch back.. sure you can when he's past his best <doh> NOT sure about the Owen signing tbh but, as said previously. He will score given the chances and numerous times those we do get our forwards( Walters vs Arsenal) don't convert. IF Owen does that, we'll be OK this season.

NUFC fans feel exactly the same. Owen was happy to be paid a bloody good wage, by Liverpool, for several years. However, he then refused to sign a new contract with them, but let his existing contract run out, so that he could collect even bigger wages - and a signing on fee - from Real Madrid.

After spending most of his time at Real either injured or on the bench, NUFC were then foolish enough to pay £17m for him and give him a five year contract, on over £100,000 a week, most of which was spent injured. Then, with his contract running out, he basically went through the motions, for the last three months of the season, so as not to risk injury, even though he had been made club captain. Result? NUFC relegated but wee Mikey gets a deal with Man Utd.

I wish no malice towards Stoke City, but every bad wishes to Owen, one of the worst example of a football mercenary, in recent times. With guys like him around, is it any wonder that football clubs go bust?
