No we can't loan any players unless there was a crisis at the club, like no fit goalkeepers etc. we can only sign free agents and that is it until the new year. Why do you think Liverpool are knackered right now

Scharner might be ok as a stop gap until the next window. He's got good experience but I still wouldn't mind Hargreaves. I think he's fit enough these days and we could try and see if he comes on a play for pay basis. I like del Horno very much as well and, if we could afford him, he might be a good option.

We may not even be able to get a free agent, read this earlier on the Liverpool board:-

Top-flight clubs must submit their 25-man squads to the Premier League by 1600 BST today. A full club-by-club breakdown will be available on the Premier League website at 1700-1800 this evening.

If a club is unable to name 25 fit, over-21 players, in their squad they will be allowed to submit a list with a number of open positions that can then be filled by free agents at any time. However, clubs who do have 25 fit and over-21 players cannot deliberately leave players off the list in order to fill them with free agents between now and January 1.

I havent counted but do we have 25 over 21 players at the club already

Mad to think Swansea nearly lost him for £1m in the summer of 2011 to Newcastle. You can add a 0 onto the end of that for his current transfer market value.

Yeah, we probably would put another 0 on the end if Liverpool was bidding :)

What do you make of your start to the season and the shambles on transfer deadline day then?

    That's it.
So if the three 21-year olds count we've already got the 25 man squad, if they don't we have 3 spare spots.

Disappointed we didn't get a goalscorer in, as all the fans and anyone who watched us a decent amount knew that it was our main problem and where we were lacking. Purely Ian Ayre/FSG's fault though, anyone blaming Rodgers for what went on is a numpty, and there's doesn't seem to be anyone blaming the manager or criticising him for it, which is quite refreshing that people aren't scapegoating him for something out of his control.

And I think our start to the season has been ok. 3 disappointing results in the league but promising glimpses of how good we will be in future when our current players get used to the system.

You have got a good goal scorer in Borini, so why are you playing him out of position, he's not a winger!........<ok>

Dunno, probably because we aren't blessed with too many good wingers either!

Borini's scoring record was OK in Serie A for Roma but not spectacular and I can't believe Liverpool paid that much for him. He's also being played out wide which is just plain wrong. Did a great job for us in the Championship but I'm yet to be convinced he's robust enough to do the business up front in the Prem.

If Rodgers was still here he'd be telling him to "man up"".
