I thought Hume was a decent player for us. He scored 14 goals in his first full season here. If Vardy got the same amount it would be a decent return from him. The difference with Hume and Vardy it Hume was playing with a very poor squad that heavy relied on him. Vardy has people like King, Dyer, Danns, Beckford, Nugent, Marshall who are all capable of scoring their fair share
I felt Hume was a frustrating player that worked very hard but was wasteful in front of goal. I admired him, but wasn't too upset when he left either. It is a fair point to say we lacked a goal-scoring midfield back then, and I too will be happy if Vardy gets 14 league goals. But NOT if he finishes our top goal-scorer on that total.
Hume was like a meerkat on acid .. picking fights he couldn't win most of the time ... Vardy has tons of energy but is not so reckless in its useage .. for me he will be Pearsons 'fox in the box' and for a prediction ? .. I'll say he will get between 15 and 20 goals this season .. and if I'm wrong I'll eat Charlie's shorts .. and that's a bold prediction as, in all likelihood, he has pooed in them ...
It was a brave call without adding the stipulation! Perhaps you should edit your post before OLM tries to make it legally binding...
Carlton Cole was their top goal scorer with 14 league goals and 15 in total. Although remember they did change things around in Jan with Vaz Te and Maynard coming in. And they only finished in the play-off zone.
Totally agree with you! looks like a player who wants out to me........sooner the better for our team.
