I see the ole FIFA generation cronies and their opposite numbers duelling on the threads this evening. The "I'm proud" corner slating others of differing opinion as "pathetic". I am of a generation used to beating Manchester sides. Old enough to have seen both come up to our division. I did have us down to beat them today. Am I surprised how well we played: no. Am I surprised we lost the game in the end: no. Am I annoyed at the changes made: yes. Do I think the last two statements linked: yes. Actually I have NOT seen many negative comments on here. The only criticism being the changes made (as I also have questioned). The so called neg heads just showing that they think that Nigel is not infallible. God forbid!?! The reality for 99% is we have a long way to go and we will improve our results. It does not and should not mean there should never be a question over a player(s) performance or anyone in the Southampton hierarchy. There are a select few that post on here (mates of each other) that stop a wider community contributing to the forum. Unfortunately there is no ignore button on the iPhone ap (or one I can't see), I for one ignore said posters' comments anyway. A comment of "oh no the meg heads are gonna be suicidal" or making a positive thread is not conducive to having a fair or open forum. I tend to agree with various and select comments from opposing views. However, it is forum suicide to start trying to make a forum just one way of thinking: i.e., yours!
Mate your expectations are too high. You'd enjoy life much more if you were more realistic and pleasantly surprised when the team excels itself like it did today. I don't mind considered criticism, I have made some myself today, but the "we're going down" attitude because we have narrowly lost to great teams is ridiculous.
People have every right to be disappointed by the result, but for a person to be so wound up as to come onto an internet forum and relieve their frustration on here suggests that they have something missing in their life.
I strangely agree with everything you say, but that may be due to your very attractive avatar Please keep posting.
And within 3minutes of each other the main protagonists rear themselves. Lol. And yet people wonder why there are not more signed up members?!? Glory hunter my ar5e.
I was absolutely gutted when we lost but with considered thought I realised there absolutely nothing to be angry about, people who are livid about today really should get a bit of perspective.
Flippin typical. Missing the point and so I must have a negative view. I am fully aware where we are in the season thank you. The point is all the statements you seem to make about others in their views can be levelled at you. Get a grip? Really? I have pretty balanced view on life and supporting my Saints. Now then, reread my original post and ask yourself what my "complaint" was about? It wasn't about the game today as such. And to answer another post about me not posting on here much, true as the answer to that also lies in my original post. Most post on this forum are by a minority, that minority add little value yet write the most. You get the idea about why so few sign up or post on here yet?
Actually, sorry you are right. You only mentioned my high expectations. That I do have. I make no apology for that, but do apologise unreservedly for including you in my general moan at THE few vociferous ones. Please accept my public apology.
I don't know which original post you're referring to, but what I saw was you coming on my thread and implying those who are proud are idiots. Maybe you could clarify that?
Some people on here remind me of the complete twat I sat next to at the game today. From the first minute he was calling Fox every name under the sun, moaned when Guly came on, and was getting angry when a Saints player did the smallest thing wrong. Needless to say I was getting seriously wound up, hence why I took some time to cool off before posting on here. I was very pleased with the performance overall, although Fox in particular worried me. Fonte had a decent game, Morgan was outstanding and Rickie caused Vidic and Ferdinand all sorts of problems before he went off. The positives far outweigh the negatives and with Ramirez to come, we will be capable of scoring in every game. I know we are bottom with no points, but I'm not concerned at all.
Fair enough, I accept your apology, which it's big of you to offer. I'll stay out of the issues with others!
Spot on. I was annoyed at the substitutions when they happened. However, looking back I am as pleased as I can be after losing game. There will be changes and I can't wait to see our new players settled in.
If you read my whole article you will see the reason why I feel the "negheads" are being totally over pessimistic in their viewpoint. I gave a balanced account of the match as I saw it, both positive and negative, it wasn't the result that was desired, but the opponents must be taken into account. It can be argued that we were worth at least a point but we are in the top league now and mistakes will be punished. It is very likely that the new signings will be involved against Arsenal and we might get a better idea of what our strongest team might be. I stand by my view that if we can put in that level of performance week in week out then we will win quite a few games this season.
It actually says I was an idiot. however written ambiguously I admit. It was to highlight general posts along the lines of "this is my view and everyone else's is not valid". Think your thread started just like that. Not against debate, but dead against cronyism and deliberate provocation.
