We all seem to like betting and predicting so I have come up with a new one......and it's simple! Notts County Scunthorpe Coventry Hartlepool Swindon Brentford That's the list of upcoming matches; win, lose or draw try and predict the first match in which we score two goals. However, own goals don't count! My effort is Coventry but could easily be Portsmouth. There is no prize unless the Loggerheads is willing to put up a 'pie and pint' supper.
Notts County! Always optimistic. Except I think we'll lose 3-2! Incidentally Metashrew, it's not too late to join the betting league if you want to I know I'm annoying and don't stop going on about it, but there you go anyway.
I looked at the fixture list on its release and saw Nottingham on the 8th September and suggested to my wife that we went to Nottingham for her birthday ... We've ended up going to Cheltenham, close thing though . At least I've found some good real ale pubs in Cheltenham to visit.
2-0 against scunny. the executive committee of the loggerheads are to present a small hamper to the winner. the hamper comprises -2 crusty rolls, a primula cheese tube, a bottle of bathams and a scotch egg.
Prediction for next week......I'll be at the match ( and there's plenty of good ale in Notts).....unless Matster wants to swap places! The Beehive (Cheltenham) is great and it's near the centre; good beer AND food! Notts County 0-1 Shrewsbury Town Wright to score Attenance 7,201
Lenny......where does one find the odds for your betting? Always like having a wager when no real money involved!!!
I'll put them up on the betting league thread the same day as I do the match threads, usually a Tuesday if the match is on a Saturday. There aren't any at the moment as I've just updated it after this weekend's results and I haven't put the next round of odds up, but when I do they'll be on the top of the first page in the form of an attachment.
Well done Lenny! Claim your prize at The Loggerheads before aj pulls the last pint! Hope you didn't have inside information! Jones and Morgan looked ok but poor Mr.Wright looks to have lost all his confidence. Otherwise yesterday was a curates egg......first 15 mins, lots of good blocks as game settled down then last 15 mins although it could have gone either way you just knew who would score.....we may all hate him (quite rightly) but he does get a few really good goals. Best thing about the day was the weather and banter on train on the way back to Derby. Wonder if there's any truth in the East Midlands rumour that Ben Davies may be moving on?
.......oh, and what is the point in bringing anyone on so late in the game????? No Fergie mind games involved, all it does is waste time (ref did not add for it.....is that cos it was 90th minute?).
