The same Uni where the story has recently broke about the UKBA (UK Border Agency) stripping the Uni of its right to issue foreign students study visas, if you've seen it on the news?
We've had all the ****ing news channels filming inside and out for the last few days since the story broke

yea ... I read something about that .... but didnt really understand why it had happened
Partly political pressure I think darling as it was Tory policy in their manifesto before the last election to cap the number of foreigners coming into the country. Foreign students do apparently account for a lot of Uni revenue as they pay the money up front as opposed to a lot of British students who only pay back their loans after earning over a certain amount of money which I think is currently £21k so in theory could never pay any of it back if they don't earn over that.
The issue is that foreign students go missing underground when their visas expire so causes more problems with enough foreigners in the country illegally as it is.
Exactly minx who likewise will/can be caught up in this issue not just the new students
For me we should get rid of anyone who is illegal but this country takes so ****ing long to process anything that illegals aren't chucked out of the country for months
unfortunately the chances are that it'll be a very small minority that are the issue but a lot more will be tarred with the same brush.
They should do what they do here, and that is give them amnesty to go home if their visa has expired without punishment, if caught after amnesty date has expired, then its hard labour, the majority fooooooking shot out, BUT that is here, uk is a different story, too soft IMOExactly minx who likewise will/can be caught up in this issue not just the new students

Seems I need to reiterate the board rules
So we're all clear, going forward showoff's original rules still apply for continuity sake.
1) Swearing is allowed but use your brain, all types of people use the forum so don't excessively use the 'C' word.
2) Racist or similar comments/photos/videos/links will be deleted.
3) Banning is a last resort, so if there's anyone that you don't like then simply put them on your ignore list.
4) If there is anything that might be a 'bit dodgy' in the way of photos, links etc then use the word NSFW (Not Suitable For Work) after you're posting or thread title as this will save people getting the boot from their job or earache off the missus.
