I thought we got Elmohamady to create ?
Seems daft to play him at right wing back.
I expect Quinn, Evans and Koren in midfield, with 2 upfront if he does go with 5 at the back.

You'll never convince me that 3-5-2(or 5-3-2 as it normally works out) is right for our squad, whichever personnel are used. The three at the back are simply a waste of man, Elmo might suit that system more than Rosie, but that's still just making the best of a bad job as far as I'm concerned.

im not sure i agree with that system either, tho i see its benefits..allows koren to play centrally and allows us to play 2 up front..
if one of the centre backs played just in front as more as a defensive midfielder, maybe it wouldnt look so bad...

It would look like a 442 diamond formation.

yes, when the team was 1st announced at blackburn i assumed faye would be playing in that sort of role, was surprised to see it was 3 centre backs when it kicked off...

Would still prefer a 4-4-2, but expect something like....

    Amos
    Chester. Faye. Bruce.
    Elmo. Evans. Koren. Quinn. Aluko.
    Simpson. Proschwitz.

sub: Oxley, Rosie, Dudgeon, Oli, Macca, Devitt and Mclean (we very thin on the ground).

2-1 to city, but think that's more heart than head.

That looks to be the likely team, unless he goes for McLean instead of Proschwitz. I have a feeling it will finish 1-1, though I hope we scrap the win, as Bolton didn't look al that good against Forest.

    I'm going to guess at:

    Amos

    Elmo, Faye, Chester, Bruce, Dudgeon

    Evans, Quinn
    Koren
    Aluko
    Proschwitz

I'd go for 442 if I were picking the team:

    Amos

    Rosie, Chester, Faye, Dudgeon

    Elmo, Koren, Quinn, Aluko

    Simpson Proschwitz

with Evans coming on to help tighten it up later in the game

If we're going 532 though I'd go with the team I'm expecting but stick Simpson in in place of Evans so we've 2 proper strikers, and drop Koren and Aluko back a line.

    Elmo Evans Koren Quinn
    Aluko

Your going to drop Rosenior and Dudgeon? Cant see that Charlie.
I think it will be 4-4-2 today

    Amos
    Rosy Faye Chezz Dudgeon
    Elmo Oli Koren Quinn
    Simpson/Aluko Prossy/Mclean

I'm not sure how Mclean did, I know he scored but all round play does he deserve a place? Happy for him if he does play.

Round of applause for Sam Ricketts today?

Edit forgot Aluko. We have more options, dunno where all the negatvitiy about lack of players is coming from, Fryatt to come back and we are after Meyler plus Mckenna and Evans too.

I think Ricardo's got it right, but my team would be the same as his apart from McLean in for Prossy.

Has to be 442 at home for me, I said as much yesterday when chatting about it at work.

"Has to be 442 at home for me" I said.

And if Rosie is dropped, I will be dismayed. He's not done anything wrong, ever, at City.

I can see the point of this 3 at the back lark away from home, but not at home, surely.

not just about doing something wrong tho, if a better player comes in then he should play.....im not saying elmo is a better player but if bruce thinks he is thats why hel play him, hes not interested that his nan is from hull and hes a fans favourite etc, hel just pick who he thinks is a better player

Rosie's class, we all know that.

    Elmo's proved nowt, not yet.

If it happens, there will be grumbles. Not least from Liam.

We still owe Bolton one BIG STYLE from early the 90's. This still haunts me.

hes a good defender, but over the last 2 years hes got in more good positions then anybody else and wasted nearly everyone of them..his crosses either hit the front man or get sliced out of play, if elmo has more quality in the final 3rd then it could be a good thing as wing backs are the main and only source of width if thats the system hes insisting on..
as i say, im not saying i agree with it as i cant say ive seen a lot of elmo, but i would understand the reasons if it happened, we need more quality from wide as a whole in the team, our crossing is poor as a rule and very wasteful

    Fair enough.

To me, the beauty behind the idea of bringing Elmo in, was to play him right wing. Rosie to continue at right back.

Two fast larkers, overlapping. Allegedly Elmo can't cross neither, but I have no evidence for this.

That would only work in a 442, so if it's this 3 at the back thing, someone's gonna be disappointed. Just don't think Rosie deserves the bench, at all.
