Pags got it from Jonty who got it from me. I'm not confirming or denying that Willis told me but I can say that the person who did would have no reason at all to tell me this out of the blue. I contacted that person after a few years of not being in touch and merely asked if I could ask a few things about Bates. His reply was that he assumed I knew that the club has been sold today and there will be an announcement by the new chairman on Saturday before the game. If I'm wrong then I will hold my hands up and apologise for getting all your hopes up but I can't see why this person (who has known me many years) would say such a thing if it wasn't true. I think tomorrow will bring more info for sure if it is true.
Ever the pessimist, I'll believe it when some fker's stood infront of me on the pitch telling me he's the new owner
Bullshit. Any takeover would be announced immediatelyI in order to fill ER for the egame to bring in an extra million in straight lprofit There would be a press conference announced I have 3 mates all called Phil Willis
Pags got it off Jonty who got it off stoopo who claims he or a mate spoke. To guy called Phil Willis Ffs
I know Pags and Jonty are alright, but I don't know Stoopo and more importantly my brains going "How the fk would Phil Willis know" and "Why would they not announce something about the takeover before Saturday", there'd be an overload on the ticket system/office and we'd probably sell more than we've ever sold in 24hrs.
Ex ****ing zactly Rumours started just to give ppl a hard-on because someone read how was it was to fool the world through social media
I heard that Bates sold the Season ticket rights to generate extra cash.... Funnily enough, they are not for sale after Saturday..... If the club has been sold, is this a fast attempt to make a quick buck before the sale?
If the sale was done, it would be done and the lcub owned by someone else. They would want to geenrate as many season ticket sales as possible by advertsiing the sale, and would want to sell out ER for the Blackburn and coiming games. Just filling ER for Blackburn - 40000 people - at an extra average of £20 per person for the extra 17000 would bring in £340,000 and there would be a bonanza in the shop and in the merchandise around the ground and programmes. It makes no business sense at all to "arrange" for the sale for tomorrow. It may happen tomorrow (in the same way it may happen at any time over the coming season), but it won't be because some social media luvvies from ja606 said so.
Elmo, we get your point. Does it have to take umpteen posts in umpteen threads to make it? Or do you just love slagging people off? You're the one that's been advocating patience. Why not exercise that belief yourself instead of relentlessly taking potshots at people who dare to be a little optimistic. Suspect your kids may have found out that Santa was a phoney before they could even speak! For the record, the tweets we're discussing here were relayed by stand up people, and in good faith. They did not claim truth in the matter, simply stated their sources and left inferences to be taken. There is absolutely no reason to crucify them for that, and your spitefulness might just prevent others providing us with nuggets in future. Just lay off, and try to reclaim the reputation you once had for balance.
