"For us the Andy Carrol was a political move that perhaps wasn't going to fall our way, ya know, liverpool gave us 35 million for him so I wish him (smug grin) all the best at West Ham"
Fair play to you getting the price for him but I have to say Alan is showing a little lack of class crowing over the price and admitting there was never a serious attempt to bring him back. Political move, was he trying to pander to the fans by using a good servant to the club as a pawn????
If he was some will say so what but is it the right way to talk about a former player who generated a lot of profit for the club which allowed you to bring in some of the excellent players currently in the team.
