Posted this on mag board, didn't know how to post on both but think it's a fair question. Alan say's "For us the Andy Carrol was a political move that perhaps wasn't going to fall our way, ya know, liverpool gave us 35 million for him so I wish him (smug grin) all the best at West Ham" Fair play to you getting the price for him but I have to say Alan is showing a little lack of class crowing over the price and admitting there was never a serious attempt to bring him back. Political move, was he trying to pander to the fans by using a good servant to the club as a pawn???? If he was some will say so what but is it the right way to talk about a former player who generated a lot of profit for the club which allowed you to bring in some of the excellent players currently in the team.
I think he was suggesting that Liverpool would never loan him to newcastle, even if the terms were better, for the simple fact it would represent them paying us £35m for the pleasure of him playing for us. I think he was just citing the price as the reason
As said on NUFC thread: He was a bellend though. And Pardew is a cocky twat. And that's why we love him. Pards 1-0 Mandy.
Why bother trying then Pampa,,,your mad is a bit of a dick by the way, think he has ran away from my reasoned argument on your board
To be fair, as much as NUFC fans love how much Pardew has gotten under the mackems skin, as he said, all you ever hear is Sudnerland fans having a go at Pardew for every little thing they can possibly find, which is probably why he just assumed you were doing the same
Probs my first post on their board in about 10 months mate and he is telling me my post is pointless, after the total bullshit we get off them on here, sorry but I make no apologies, I was just quoting their manager and actually if you read the replys get no response to the question at all, just a" don't pick on Al you nasty man"
A lot of journalists saying Liverpool refused to do business with us from the very start so if anything they're the ones without class. Andy obviously wanted to return here and they essentially forced him to move somewhere he perhaps didn't really want to! The fact that they're acting like we've committed some huge injustice on them after they took him on the last day of the transfer window with no time to get anyone else in is laughable but hey ho. Not like we ****ing forced them to buy him. I'd say Pardew is biting his tongue here if anything.
The Pardew smirk during the interview conveyed it all. Liverpool probably paid about 10m too much but that was Dalglish's fault; Ajax and their fans could not believe their luck either when he came in for Suarez.
Storm in a teacup. As for comments about lack of class its just an issue of being partizan really. O'Neill and Pardew have both done interviews talking about transfers where they come across a touch smug and there are two threads next to each other on your boards one talking about Pardew being a smug twat and the other talking about how O'Neills confidence is infectious. Both fair enough threads but not exactly impartial - don't be suprised when Newcastle fans don't agree! ps. For the record I think O'Neill has every right to be confident/smug at the moment, some great business for you lot.
I thought it was universally accepted that people take every possible opportunity to laugh as hard as possible at Liverpool, in fact I heard a rumour that they're making it a new law. For me, I haven't seen the interview, but Liverpool obviously think they've had the last laugh and Pardew has taken the opportunity to say "that's not a good enough comeback, we still win". Pardew may laugh twice as hard as well if West Ham get relegated and the permanent transfer falls through!
This is clearly a case of how you read it (and to be fair, while I think you're well within your rights to post on our board, I do think going on there with a "My opinion is right and I'll not have it any other way" attitude was fairly pointless - goes for both supporters on both boards) You think he was having a dig at Liverpool, I agree, but my opinion, based not on my dislike of a certain person, but on quite regularly published beliefs from journalists, is that Liverpool don't want to sell/loan him to us. Brendan Rogers basically said this himself... You made a comment about Toon fans wearing black n white specs with Tiote, yours, in my opinion, are quite firmly on with regards to Pardew.
Whether you post or not, it seemed like a WUM post to me my opinion, you then come on here and start bitching about it and mocking our board for having a lack of members when people left because other people were mocking Gary Speed dieing (whether you know that or not I don't know).
