Whatââ¬â¢s so good about it, go on, tell me, cant can you. Now before someone says, yes but we get the day off work, exactly, you clog up the streets that are normaly left quiet for us who no longer work, weekends are your turn. Anyway, Friday, good or bad is the day before match day, thatââ¬â¢s whatââ¬â¢s good about Friday and nothing else. Its a day when the excitement rises at about the same rate that the nervous do, more so this good bloody Friday. My norm on a Friday, well most days to be honest, is to have my afternoon walk in the park with Osca but even that is spoilt, it full of this little things they call children and bigger spotty things called teenagers. Scateboards and bikes, jeans round their knees with muli coloured undergarments on show, baggy tops and back to front caps. Whatââ¬â¢s worse are those 12, 13 and 14 year old girls, sitting watching and it seems the only way they can communicate their desire for the spotty boys is by screaming and screeching, oh and shouting oh my god, I swear.. Still the good news is that tomorrow its my turn, adult time, grown up time, mature time, Iââ¬â¢ll show those young nerds how grown men act. I will dress in my red and white shirt and red baseball cap with the SAFC crest and set off. Park my car then get my high quality burger from the dinner,(caravan with a grill) and eat it at the main gates waiting for the players to come in. Into the stadium and apllaude the players on then at kick of its,ââ¬ÂCome on my bonny ladsââ¬Â At full time, if we win its ger in, when we score its hug the man next to me, if we lose its lots of swear words and depression. Then home, an Indian take away and on the laptop to share my joy or anger with lots of my best mates, I have never met and donââ¬â¢t know, on not606. Bloody Good Friday, wish it was over so I could get off and spend a day with the grown ups..
"Yes but we get the day off" Not in the world of RAW, who is on nightshift all over the bank holiday weekend...
The trouble with all these retired folk is they have no Bank holidays to look forward to because everyday is the same lol And for clogging the streets up its the mobility scooters that does that lol. Not meaning any harm really as i am 56 and will be one the dog walkers myself hopefully lol 3-0 tommorrow and no i am not an idiot i think they will be up for it.
As another old timer I think you have summed up Good Friday beautifully although when I go for my walk I don't have to contend with the agrivation of the events in the local park. Why? because I live in the Cheviot Hills and the only bleating I hear is the sheep and lambs, it's lambing time at present. As I write I'm getting myself into the "Saturday frame of mind" and for the long drive down from North Northumberland. Good article Syd and one day I'll catch up with you in the East Stand, I've looked a couple of times in the last few home games but you must have been chatting somewhere else.
Its all down to you that I have gone for 3-0 so any other score and a ban coming your way, my pensions at risk here
**** good friday, whats good about it, as a self employed engineer, If I dont work, I dont get paid, like a lot of you folk, 1200 till midnight, extra money dont happen, all inclusive price for the job, but no regrets, they might come tomorrow[ today here] then its on the piss, celebrate when winning, commiserate when losing, or in other words,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,any excuse will do.
