Evening Bob Yes, I have to say I was very concerned about our start to the season, and although I have always advocated a wait a few more games approach, things were looking a bit iffy. I was furher concerned at Bellers reasons for coming to us and perhaps, in light of recent news, these concerns have some substance to them. The signing of Smith didn't totally inspire me either. However, given the arrival of Noone and possibly Maynard, it looks as if MM is taking steps to change our game dramatically. I think we need to give him a couple of games to see how his new plans work out (as I'm sure they will) but, he really will have to make sure the expense is put to the most effective use. On the issue of entertainment versus results, I think the modern game demands an entertaining style in order to achieve the results wanted by the fans. I think if this group of players are committed and allowed to make the best of their qualities, we can look forward to the happy combination of entertainment and winning.
Clingo, am I missing something about Bellamy mate? What has he been up to...I did hear that he was on the pop on the weekend...out on the town with his bodyguard!
Hows tricks fella? I'll be honest with you Cling, all I could envisage was more of the spin that we came to accept from a defence minded set up at the end of last season. Things needed to change. We cannot waste Whitts so deep in defence, we needed width and pace, we needed to be more resolute in attack. I feel optomistic for the first time in a long while and hope Bellars, a natural leader, can sort out his off field issues so he can play his part in drive to the top.
Red I wouldn't read too much into my adding 2 and 2 to get a bit more than 4 perhaps. It was just that Bellers said he wanted to come back to Cardiff for family reasons and now it appears he wants a bit of time to sort out personal issues. I hope he does get it sorted (what it is is none of our business) not only for our sakes but more importantly for the good of himself and his family. Bob I'm good thanks. Hope all is well with you too. I hope MM can lose some of the fear of losing and use the undoubted talent we have to win games. Like you, I want to see a fully focussed Bellers, not just for now but also for a long term involvment at the club.
