When we went up to the championship we loaned Cody McDonald out to gillingham. Every time anything slightly went wrong, we didn't score, delia slightly burnt a pie it was instant crisis mode and the reason and only solution was "COOODY what about COOODY!""we'd have won if we'd had COOODY"

We'll get the same thing this year. It'll be every time Vaughan scores or we get into any tiny but of stress it'll be "VAUGGHHHANNNY what about vaaauughhnny!" "we'd have won if we'd had vaughany!"

The brutal truth is Vaughan has been loaned out because he hasn't been able to prove himself at this level. We're trying to support him in furtherin his career, hopefully with us, and anything that happens to us or during his time at Huddersfield means nothing to our season and any hypothetical situations made up aren't useful.

Treat other fans with disdain if you wish but that doesn't alter the fact that we will play up until January with only 3 strikers unless we buy someone by tomorrow night.

I have no idea how good the lad Bunn is, and have only really heard very good reports for Rudd & Steer. However, I think the bottom line is we have to trust Dave Watson's judgement (which should be pretty spot on), for whatever reason "Bunny" has been brought in.

Also, although not in this transfer round but maybe soon, if Ruddy continues to impress as he has done so far in the EPL, we may need to brace ourselves for his departure to a top 6 club. This may or may not be related to Bunn's signing.

I disagree Beefy. Cody was jumping up several divisions - Vaughan proved himself at Prem level years ago. The problem, of course, is his injury record, and maybe that is a reason to move him on. I just personally think it was worth taking the risk. Clearly you don't.

I think te fact that CH has loaned JV out suggests that he feels that the risk is too high and would rather have a more "reliable" (in the sense of being fit to play more than a handful of matches a season) player in the squad.

I like and rate JV but I don't think anyone could argue that he had proved himself at the top level - sadly he has never been fit for long enough to fully prove himself. If he stays fit and does well for Huddersfield then we have him back as a serious asset next season. If he doesn't then at least he is off the wage bill.

None of it matters if he can't stay fit for more than 2 games. Everton tried the same thing and he got injured at crystal palace. I really hope it works out and he years up the league and we get a new player back but that's on him to achieve, it hasnt got anything to do with our season.

I sent you a tongue-in-cheek tweet and you totally ignored me! Did you think I was serious??????

i was having a debate with a friend on tuesday.

do you think chrissy martin has beefed up in terms of doing weights etc,

or is he just fat?

genuine question! i felt he looked rather substantial around the waist.

He was never blessed with pace but thats not his fault. He was blessed with an ability to use his strength and observation to get into positions between or outside defenders, especially at L1 standard. You don't get that opportunity so readily at Prem level.
Yes he has beefed up a bit and looks slightly muscle bound to me. I'm sure with the right Championship club he would be good in a two or three striker partnership.

I reckon he's had some of those scrumptious sausages from that chippy in Beccles Market Square! They are truly delightful!

tend to agree about his level. i've felt it for a while that he'd be a middling championship striker, you know the type - like jon stead. nothing i've seen in the past two years has made me think any different.

Its a shame that the old production line seems to have stopped. While the likes of Liverpool still pay daft money for other clubs younger stars, we haven't had any for a long time who even they would give us money for.
Lets hope the clubs ambitions in the academy area will press the start button on the conveyor belt.

it'll pick up again now redruth, i'm sure of it. we've had tremendous success in the past with scouting players from places like the west country and london, and we've been totally devastated by the previous 90-minute ruling. it really did bugger us right up!
