simple. he hasn't come here to sit on the bench - he's come here to be number one. he'll believe he is able to prove to our manager and coaches that he's good enough to be our number one. he's a good age for a keeper, similar to ruddy and he's undoubtedly got ability. he'll be working with the england keeping coach and his confidence will be high after his move. any mistake from ruddy or impressing in training more than our current number one could result in him getting the gloves. ruddy has had nobody breathing down his neck - that's now changed so both keepers will up their games.
If he really thinks that he can get regular games quicker by displacing a current England GK than sitting still and automatically replacing a GK who is already way past his sell by date then I can only agree that he is not short of confidence. I really really do hope you are right but I have my doubts.

i've not found one blackburn fan who doesn't rate him higher than paul robinson. none of them could understand why he wasn't first choice and they all think he's potentially international class, so he's definitely good. no matter what anyone says, this will make a difference. we'll see how ruddy copes under pressure cos he hasn't been under any before. he may well raise his game to another notch higher. if that's the case, its been worth it. if not, then we have a class back up in case we need him or someone who can be better than ruddy. i just think this move has been met by so much negative feedback purely because people are so desperate to see a centre forward come through the door, which is by no menas a guarantee. i worry how sections of our fans will react if we don't sign a new forward...
Don't really understand the uproar with Mark Bunn signing in all honesty. It's providing more competition for Ruddy and enabling Rudd and Steer to gain experience elsewhere. Simple as that.
I do think their is panic about this centre forward business. I do think it's where we need most to improve but I am happy to go into this season with our current squad. And unlike Supers I still think we have a tidy amount of money stashed away for a striker. I may be wrong but I genuinely do.
Look at last season, how many goals did we score? a lot
What attacking players have we lost who contributed goals last season? none
It's just finding the balance, more to do with the tactics rather than actual finishing, we need to start making the most of out creative players. Like i said a forward would be a welcome addition but I don't think it's crisis if we don't get one.
If Anichebe is the only one available I would pass.

The Vaughan thing is going to become huuuge I can't wait
Cody 2.0 YAWNNN
You've lost me on that one. Please explain.
When we went up to the championship we loaned Cody McDonald out to gillingham. Every time anything slightly went wrong, we didn't score, delia slightly burnt a pie it was instant crisis mode and the reason and only solution was "COOODY what about COOODY!""we'd have won if we'd had COOODY"
We'll get the same thing this year. It'll be every time Vaughan scores or we get into any tiny but of stress it'll be "VAUGGHHHANNNY what about vaaauughhnny!" "we'd have won if we'd had vaughany!"
The brutal truth is Vaughan has been loaned out because he hasn't been able to prove himself at this level. We're trying to support him in furtherin his career, hopefully with us, and anything that happens to us or during his time at Huddersfield means nothing to our season and any hypothetical situations made up aren't useful.
