how can Lambert be worth less than Rhodes purely because he scored more in league 1? ... lambert is the Championship top scorer and player of the year. also the centre half Nixon is on about is Rhys Williams

It's not because of his goals in League One. Blackburn are paying, in part, for his potential and re-sale value as well as his current ability and hes shown plenty of that so far in his career.

He was for one year, yes. He's also considerably older. Rhodes' market value is obviously higher than Lambert's.

Boro have just sold their other centre back, and also Williams went off injured last night for them.

Plus he was made club captain at the start of the season.

So seems unlikely I'd have thought?

The bias here is laughable. Rhodes hasn't proven himself in the championship, but he's only 22 and scored 30+ goals in League One. Lambert also wasn't tested in the Championship and the rest is history. He also wasn't prolific in League One until he was about 26/27 and Blackburn's owners are clueless and will overspend on a player. Lambert's got a season or two left in him at his peak, Rhodes hasn't even reached his peak and will be playing Premier League football in a couple of seasons, a lot quicker than it took Lambert to get there. I'd rather have a player with potential and a lot of years left in him than a quality player who's going to start going downhill in a couple of years.

We have both :)

he has hardly missed a minute of football in about 6 years, it's unlikely that injuries will effect him now if they hadn't all ready. He will be playing over 30 games a season well into his mid 30's

Lambert isn't the first player ever to not have his game revolve around pace. If pace was the only thing that deteriorated then people like Shearer and Le Tiss would still be playing now.

Hopefully not for us! I love Rickie, he's one of my all-time favourite Saints players but if we haven't upgraded on him in 5/6 years I'd be very surprised. This is, of course, assuming we don't slide back down the leagues. If we do, then sure, take Rickie with us.

Your heroine, Laura Robson, is playing well against Clijsters. One set up and was within 2 points of winning the match, but Clijsters back in it now. laura playing some good stuff though.
