Ive only just remembered this conversation from after the match on sun..... I got chatting to a guy in the pub and he asked if i thought Britannia was a strong enough sponsor for Stoke. From what ive heard Britannia is slipping downhill, im not aware of how much money they bring to the club or how long there contract has left to run. Personally i couldnt imagine the Brit being called anything else and that Stoke are doing sound enough regarding the clubs accounts etc. But if Britannia were to disappear id nominate bet365. Not the most interesting topic of conversation but what do you all think??
How about: The Rory Delap Home for Retired Javelin Throwers !!!, seriously though: I second the Matthews Stadium
Think guys, how many EPL clubs have the stadium linked with the sponsor US AND ARSENAL... AM I RIGHT? Oh and Wigan.
Not 100% sure but I think Wigan changed the name of their stadium. Might be wrong but i'm sure i've heard it being called something different this season.
Yeah Wigan have changed the stadium name to the DW Stadium, changed the name after JJB stopped sponsoring them. Bolton have the Reebok, they haven't had them sponsoring them for a couple of years. I think they still make their shirts though.
Brittania slipping downhill ! They are now owned by The Co-Operative which makes them one of the biggest investment banking institutions in Europe i wish i was slipping downhill that fast. They are also have one of the longest sponsorship deals in the Football League and are synonymous with Stoke, i suspect however that the Britannia name will disappear much like Chevron did when they took over Texaco. Both partners get a good deal out of the arrangement and personally i hope it stays that way. Don't think i want to visit The Co-Op Stadium every Saturday, Kids Savings Stadium or Co-Op Mortgage Stadium. Lets get back to The Victoria Ground !!!
Everytime me and my family pass the rubble earthland that used to be the VG. We all just say: "theres the old victoria ground" and its a sad moment, so many memories, now were in a crap, but very loud, half built sponserd wreck of a stadium.
I genuinly didnt know they were owned by co-op, does that mean we will have to pay more for fairtrade players?
