They'll have a whole day tomorrow of taking pictures in different locations - like "planking" on top of the Guildhall in Southampton.

Maybe so, but still, why the need for a smokescreen?

    Yes but Google are yanks....

Probably right, either way I think that one is definitely over now. And in fairness if I was Blackpool I would have no interest in selling except for mega bucks.

An attempt to avoid other deals reaching the public eye. If everyone is busy looking at the Phillips deal then other deals can go by more quietly. The Mayuka deal wasn't leaked until late. If deals go by quietly they get less complicated - look at how the media knowing every detail of the Ramirez deal has complicated things. The deal would probably go the same way regardless but there's a lot of added hassle.

If you could choose, Mayuka or Phillips? Can't say I know anything at all on Mayuka, but wasn't overly impressed with Phillips last year, and £6mil is a hefty tag, and also double Mayuka's.

Depends. If the fee was the same for both probably Phillips, I rate him highly and he knows the English game (including the Premier League, limited experience but better than none). But hey, I've done almost no research on Mayuka and no nothing of him outside of the Cup of Nations so I'll trust the scouts who decided he was the better option.

Phillips would've cost in excess of £6m, Mayuka cost half that.

That's why I pointed out, if the fees were hypothetically the same :p

Hopefully us signing another striker means Nigel has grown a pair and is contemplating 2 up front, everyone cross your fingers.

Phillips is the known quantity in the English game, but Mayuka might have more upside. He is, for lack of a better term, direct as all ****, as that's something that we're going to need from time to time given that we can't count on dominating possession anymore.

Shame Mayuka is more of a winger.

I would also say he is far more skilled and a better finisher. Judging by the games I watched him.

i know what your saying, we were still pretty poor with 4-4-2 but we had completley run out of ideas by then, i hope Nigel see's sense and goes back to two up front. as the saying goes "if it aint broke, dont fix it"

We had so many chances when playing 4-3-3. So many chances.
