he is a straight swap....so im glad that we havent gone backwards at least...he is a player that can help us build on 4th spot or at least maintain it....as for the sitting.....does he not start off deep?

Modric > Dembele

You have gone backwards

In that respect, yes. We'll have to wait and see for our final dealings in the next couple of days but(assuming Dembele signs for £15mill) we're about £10-15mill in profit over our summer spending with Modric being the only area we've downgraded a bit whilst strengthening ourselves in defence and adding proper backup for VDV. If we can strengthen ourselves with a quality winger and perhaps in goalkeeper too we'd have improved our squad over the window, in my opinion.

Ade is playing in the ACN isn't he? Think you need to find another striker.

I think the final qualifying round is in September but yeah, he might be in it. That's at the end of January though so no rush if we don't get one in this window. Who knows, by then Defoe might look like a great second choice :D

It's all early days and any signings we make will still need to be able to settle into the league and actually be any good but for me, AVB should be getting us around the 70 points total again this season.

Adebayor has retired from international football. He did when the togo bus got shut up a few years back.

'Adebeyor subsequently returned to international duty in November 2011 following assurances from the Togo Football Federation regarding safety,[65] making his comeback in a 1–0 win over Guinea-Bissau in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.'

My apologies.

Dembele could turn out to be your buy of the season and be much more influential than Modric ever was.
