QPR's signings are just big names who are available. I don't think any scouting has gone into some of the signings at all. I.E Buying Bosingwa when your a relegation survival team? One of the weakest defensively right backs around, also Julio Cesar when you've just signed a number 1? If they get Julio Cesar they'll be spending around 100k a week on two keepers. What's the point?

I would rather get Marcus Hahnemann and actually spend the wages on an exciting young player.

Also QPR fan who posted above, why spend all this money on has beens? You've made 8 signings and to be honest I only think 2 of them is a good signings (Junior Hoilett & Diakete) but out of them all who'll probably be able to play at this level at the end of their contracrt? I don't think any of them other than Hoilett and Diakete, I don't understand why you don't sign the others in a similar mould. Zapata from Villereal would probably cost the same wages as Ryan Nelsen, again Andy Johnson signing is ridiculous and I wouldn't be surprised to see Michael Owen to become a QPR player this season. I don't know exactly what wages Andy Johnson is on but probably double Grant Holt.
 
Talksport were saying he will be on 40k with Green on 50k. Either way they will have a lot of money per week sitting on the bench and if they get relegated, they will be fkd!

That rare honour is one of our very own ex-players, a notorious goalkeeper who goes by the name of Theoklitos...

"In the opening match of the season on 8 August 2009, Theoklitos made his debut for Norwich against Colchester United at Carrow Road, conceding five goals before half-time and seven in total.

He described the match as "the worst performance I've had in my career" to BBC Radio Norfolk. Despite the performance, Theoklitos still had the support of manager Bryan Gunn, a former goalkeeper himself. However, Gunn did not have the support of the Norwich board, and was replaced by Colchester manager Paul Lambert, who had engineered the 7–1 defeat. Under Lambert, Theoklitos was demoted to third-choice goalkeeper.

He was recalled to the first-team bench for a Football League Trophy match against Gillingham, but according to the club he failed to show up for the match, causing the club to discipline him. Theoklitos denied the claim, saying "It's not that I did not turn up but I was half an hour late" because "I got my wires mixed up".

Lambert confirmed in December 2009 that he expected Theoklitos to be leaving the club. Theoklitos' contract was terminated by mutual consent in March 2010. His debut match was the only one he played for the Canaries.

He played some reserve games and managed to **** up in them too.

I heard he went back to Oz and did really well ironically.

please believe me when i say i really wouldn't! and i didn't say cesar is crap - i said he's declined badly over the last twelve months. he's still a good keeper but he's not close to being the keeper he once was. its not hard, just try and read my posts properly! dunno if you went tonight but according to sky sports a few moments ago they said bosingwa was terrible... and then he scored! <laugh>

Bosingwa has so far not conceded a goal and has already scored one. Thatll do for me
 
On the young Zambia striker he came out and said we offered him a contract and now he has signed for Southampton 0_0 we must not be paying these huge wages people think. After look how much they have spent and the wages they have lol

Do you not even, in the very slightest, agree with something that was mentioned above..................if the QPR owners have all this wealth available to pour in to the club, why are they getting in older players that are potentially on their way out and not the proven PL younger guns? If money is no object to these people, these are the players they should be getting. It does not even appear to be trying to achieve a balance between the two age groups.

TF is hell bent on this "global brand" and precious little else (so it would appear from the outside) and you guys are swallowing it - hook, line & sinker. The Koreans, Brazilians etc you sign now that are bringing to the attention of those countries the name of QPR will have to be replaced with players from the same countries to maintain the "fan base" or they will just jump ship and "follow" another idol of theirs at another club.

I read yesterday that MH stated there will not be another transfer window like this for QPR in January or the next few season but surely with all the older players in the squad (30+ years) they will have to be replaced so another manic transfer window must surely come again at some point.

Another worrying aspect of the "apparent" transfer policy is that QPR are not likely to get any "off pitch" return on these players as they will be deemed too old for anyone to buy.

This is not a put down of your club, this is just how I see it and being on the outside it can be easier to see things in a different light and I do not expect many QPR fans to see the point I am trying to make simply because they do not want to. That is fair enough, it's your club and how you interpret what they do is your choice but to simply dismiss anything remotely negative that is/may be said is burying your head in the sand.

I am not saying he isn't trying to get those things going but as usual some fans read what they want to read and instantly become defensive. His immediate goal is the "global" thing because it is something he can actually be seen to be doing at this moment in time, the others are going to take years to come to fruition. This immidiate goal does not appear, so far, to be for the benefit of the team.

How about a response to the question...

Because alot of youngsters these days are all tipped to do so much that they are valuated at completely ridiculous amounts.

I did say proven PL players, not fringe players.

I will not disagree that transfer fees for young British PL players is ridiculous and total unrealistic, however it comes back to the line - By all accounts, and so many QPR fans tell us, the club has money to burn so why not build a squad for the future and not just the forthcoming season?

Because we still need players to play now. Players like Taarabt, Hoilett, Diakite, Traore, Ehmer, Doughty, Sharif, Harriman, Lennox and Sutherland will play in the future.
