    Southampton striker Lambert has been looked at but sources at the south coast club have told us that the player would not want to move back down to the championship. Lambert&#8217;s team-mate Billy Sharp was on the radar earlier in the summer so Rovers could decide to renew their interest in him, sources close to the player have suggested that he would consider a move back up north and with Southampton set to bring in at least one more striker before Friday Sharp could find himself down the pecking order at St Mary&#8217;s.



    First Rickie then Billy. They can jog on!

    Sharp's a strange one. Firstly, he's already justified his signing by getting us up. But I just think if we strated him, he'd get goals in any league. But he doesn't give us much else in terms of hold up play etc. Tough one.

    He could prove to be a good impact sub, but yeah he doesn't have the all round game of the other strikers. I would be surprised if he was willing to move back up north after only half a season though, he'll want to have a fair crack at the premier league.
