Wow....
I thought this was dragging on for so long that we'd moved on.

Awaiting OS announcement now ;)

However, this could well be a few more days with work permits etc to sort out...

Not gunna believe this untill it's on the OS now

Been led on too many times by Twatter with Ramirez, too many false hopes and dawns

Sky Sports: Reports in the Italian press say Bologna are finally set to reach an agreement with Southampton for the €14million (£11m) sale of Gaston Ramirez. The Uruguayan is said to not be training with his club and is ready to travel to England.

Not sure I am too convinced that reports of a 30% sell on clause are true. We supposedly had already agreed terms with Penarol and it was just Bologna who we needed to sort it with. If we had agreed terms, why would we then back track and agree to a deal that will cost us more in the future? You may think it is as we are paying more upfront, but the fee to Penarol was only minor in terms of the transfer, so I don't see why it would be a problem.

If the deal is £11 million as reported then 30% would be just over £3 million which is not unsubstantial if being paid upfront

Just been reading a little on the process of getting a visa/work permit etc. Sounds like a long drawn-out process for most people so it's incredible that they seem to prioritise turning around all these applications from footballers in the few hours before the transfer window shuts.

That's not how sell-on clauses work. We pay them nothing now but when we sell Ramirez they get 30% of that fee.

Sorted it for you<ok> :p

Penarol agreed 1.5m for their 30% share. It's not a simple mathematic ratio as you have above. They agreed 1.5m full stop.

As was reported before, but the latest reports suggest this has changed. I'm not saying it's true (quite the opposite) but that's the reason for the discussion.

Oh wow, I stopped reading this thread a few days ago as I was convinced we'd hear no more developments until deadline day. Are things actually looking good?!

Well every source on Twitter is now saying the same thing so looks like it.

Gastón Ezequiel Ramírez Pereyra - Just noticed that he is only 21, what role is he likely play if this transfer is confirmed?
