This thread has become totally irrelevant to it's title.
I don't want to read this sort of stuff so can we please have the forum closed down ?

"Poor old Vetch.starts a thread and chaos consumes".

Well,I won't go to bed early again that's for sure. Look at all the fun I missed. Pure vaudeville. ...

The point I was going for is that if someone doesn't like something somebody has written, should we close it down ?
Fair enough if it's is seriously offensive, sick, racist etc
Maybe there should be 'another' sticky where off topic stuff can be put ? I dunno just spitballin'. At the end of the day, if a thread isn't popular it disappears down the page pretty quickly anyway so what's the issue ?

I will say though that Dai saying that Rodgers is a man of his word is the most bonkers thing I've heard for a long, long time - but he is entitled to his opinion isn't he ?

He's entitled to his opinion like everyone, but if his comments are absurd aren't people entitled to tell him that ? His problem is that he posts things that he says are facts but they are not as they are just his opinion. There is a difference between facts and opinions, facts are factual and can be confirmed and proven as such.

Opinions are just your view on something, there are many views but it doesn't make them factual.

Aye, but surely most people take the term 'fact' with a pinch of salt in certain posts ?
I know for a fact this to be the case.
Has existentialism tought us nothing ?

Valley: That doesn't mean the thread should be deleted does it? I laugh at Dai's stuff as much as anyone and I've probably had more run ins with him than anyone, going right back to the old 606. But the thread itself wasn't abusive or insulting, just irritating because we don't expect one of our own to be gushing over Liverpool - of all teams.

That said, I totally respect the mods' decision. If we start arguing over this sort of thing it just makes their job harder.

It's not just the fact that his opinions are so woefully wrong. That would be harmless enough. Problem is that his lies are often based purely on his malice towards certain people. His long running hate campaign against Huw Jenkins being the prime example.

I'm firmly of the belief that his every utterance needs to be challenged and his lies and inconsistencies laid bare for all to see.

"It should have been transfered to Liverpool..." For a substantial fee,I assume? ...

If Dai had any common sense,he would not have posted his "love of Rodgers and all things Liverpool",on this Forum.(My parentheses).

He must have been aware that it was of a rather incendiary nature.

It was,at best,ill thought out,and at worst,unconscionable.

It's not his views (which are generally bonkers) but his condescending attitude to the rest of us. I hate that. If he cut that part out he'd find that more people respected his views a bit more.

Whenever I've had a go at him his two sidekicks Norway and Dragon jump all over me and that emboldens him. When he gets comments like "Keep going Dai!" from Dragon he knows he's got support and that's just made him worse over the years. This forum is now reaping what they have sowed.
