Defoe isn't a lone striker, why some people think he can do that job I'll never know.

Hopefully this is the last time we suffer this nonsense.

But of course lots of others must take the blame for this. Indeed, I don't blame JD, per se. It's not his fault that he hasn't the skills or physical attributes to lead the line. Though apparently because he moans a lot if he's not playing, he needs to be placated, according to some.

Primarily ENIC must take the blame, then add your villains as you believe. But for me, ATM, this all stems from ENIC's failure to show the cash and ambition necessary.

We should never, ever have gone into the first two games with JD as the lone striker. We need a new keeper, another striker, and now it's painfully obvious we need a new midfielder too.

Why does a supposed astute manager need a player to be on the pitch, in a league game, in front of his own eyes, to see that a player is ****. Couldn't he have watched some dvd's of Defoes previous attempts of playing on his own, or realise that if umpteen previous national and international managers throughout Defoe's career haven't been able to turn him into one at his age (30 in 6weeks or so)....wtf makes him think he can???

    <applause>

I'd like to add, we need at least two midfielders, one to replace Modric and another to cover the position when the replacement can't play. Especially if we lose Hudd.

It's true isn't it. He's not going to become Drogba overnight at 29 years old.

At least Remy arguably has some possible improvements to make. (I know the two of them are compared as similar players.)

Well said Lock Stock. I think the chances of Defoe growing several inches and putting on about 3 stone of muscle to match are quite unlikely at this stage.

Do we have access to a medieval rack at our new, hi-tech top of the line facility???

But Everton and Swansea haven't placed as high as we have consistently over recent years and Levy's trying to play the long game.
I think that he's happy if our squad's sorted on the final day, looking towards the rest of the season and seasons after that, happy to sacrifice a few points along the way.
Not saying that he's right, but it's worked out fairly well for us overall in the last few campaigns, so I can understand it.

Yes, unfortunately. Not sure if Gallas was at the end though, as I've yet to see a replay, for some reason.
No idea why Vertonghen being hauled to the ground during the build up to their goal's been ignored, either.
He seemed to have an ongoing tussle with one of their players, but was taken out when attempting to challenge for a cross and then held down.

Didn't Vertonghen commit the foul first on the guy ?? Someone, I think it was YV, posted a clip on here last night which showed Vert offending first.

I thought the West Brom player grabbed him first, then he reacted, so I'd say that the grab was the first offence.
Both of those were well off the ball though, so I wouldn't expect the officials to spot either.
Not sure how they missed the rugby tackle that prevented Vertonghen challenging for a header though, as it was right where play was.
